Ryan-
Did you ever find a fix for the broadcom wireless issue caused by the kernel
install? I'm having the same problem.

Here is the easiest instruction set I found to solve the broadcom issues
as well as upgrading the kernel
If you have wireless cards Broadcom 43xx series first install packages
bcmwl-kernel-source 5.60.48.36+bdcom-0ubuntu5
bcmwl-modaliases 5.60.48.36+bdcom-0ubuntu5
located here for i386
Hi,
I am using kernel linux 2.6.32-24-generic-PAE
Unfortunately the fix is not for PAE kernel.
Do you have any ideas on how to fix it for people using PAE?
Thanks

I was having an extreme graphics regression bug with Ubuntu Lucid, every
program I opened I encountered GUI problems, and this was with Compiz
turned off. I solved my problem by upgrading to kernel 2.6.34 by the
advice of Stenten and all my problems went away and Ubuntu Lucid ran
beautifully.
What bug are you talking about? Is there another bug other than the
quadrapassel bug I linked you to?

Sorry for taking so long to respond, I have tested out Fedora 13 and the
bug is not present whatsoever. I just did a clean format install of
Ubuntu 10.04, I did all the updates turned off compiz as Lourens Veen
said and the bug still exist. I can also confirm that sync to vblank in
compiz

Yes, please try the current mainline kernel [1]. Download and install
the _all headers, the i386 headers, and the i386 image.

I found your quadrapassel bug in gnome-games. It's Bug #519428. Please
mark Does this bug affect you too and also subscribe to it.
I also believe your vlc issue is a vlc issue, not an X Server issue.
Please file a separate bug in their bug tracker.

After installing the new kernel from the link given by stenten there is
no longer a bug, I even tried out the 2.6.33 lucid trunk kernel and the
bug did not exist anymore. There just seems to be a problem with the
2.6.32 kernel and I am happy that everyone here helped me solve my
problem. The

Please do play with turning off compiz and changing its settings as
described above.
Also, you might have more luck with the X-Updates PPA; it's more stable than
the edgers
