I can insert and eject usb pen drives no problem in Nautilus.
I can insert a usb hdd, but if I try eject; I get the same error dialog

The problem I have is not that the thumbnail generation is slow, but
that gthumb is unresponsive while this happens. A typical directory I
work with in gthumb will have 100s of pictures/RAW files. Generating

isn't restarted 'the old fasioned way'. I can't remember exactly when,

I've tried to boot in safe mode and it worked (it use vesa driver). If I try
to reconfigure xserver-xorg with dpkg and i choose nv drivers, then my screen

Unfortunately I have to close this bugreport as removing files from
/etc/init.d/ is not supported. A better way to deactivate init scripts

I'm a new Linux user. I installed Ubuntu 6.1 some weeks ago, but noticed
that on boot-up the sound would sometimes fail to work. A reboot (or
several reboots) usually fixed the problem. Two days ago, the sound
failed completely. No amount of rebooting restores it. I've worked

Booting with noapic doesn't seem to help; the clock is still losing
three seconds every minute. I've attached the output of dmesg.
Shall I report this upstream?

I think a better course of action would be to make syslog a recommends
of ubuntu-minimal so that it does not have to be removed.

Oh, and a upgrade with the release-upgrader will always ensure that
ubuntu-minimal and ubuntu-standard is installed (at least in non-server
upgrade mode).

On a (black) MacBook, there IS no BIOS, so I'm left without keyboard in
grub. However, what makes it extreamly weird, is that _sometimes_ (very
rare though) I DO have a working keyboard in grub...
