This is due to a missmatch of kernels in fai-kernel and *ubuntu. fai-kernels has 2.6.17 and ubuntu feisty 2.6.20. In the ubuntu kernele the new libata drivers are used. They name the drives sd*. The older 2.6.17 drivers named them hd*. As a work around until fai-kernels uses 2.6.20 you can
