Good news everyone! A (real) fix has been found upstream that should
free us from the if(!on) hack. It should be merged to the official
driver soon and hopefully be in the 2.6.1 release. Also, let us all
hope that this makes it into Jaunty... it's not too late to get the 2.6
driver in is it?

Hmmm, I never use an external keyboard but I do have the ?? layout. It
replaced my USA International (with dead keys), and it still works, it
just looks funny. Same problem or different problem?

Right, so -mfloat-abi=softfp generates binaries which use compatible
calling conventions but do require a VFP.
I don't think we want this; instead we should rather optimize libs and
programs to select VFP at runtime if available or provide alternate
packages for VFP versus non VFP systems. One

I made a mistake looking on my system. The libv4l I receveid in last
updates it's the 0.5.7-1~intrepid1 version who take place of
0.5.6-1~intrepid1.
So, It's solved for me with the 22 Gen 2009 updates for
- Cheese 2..24.1-0ubuntu1
- libv4l-0 0.5.7-1~intrepid1
Same Laptop (Acer Aspire 5720z) and same problem. Using Ubuntu 8.10 64
bits and kernel 2.6.27-9-generic. Now trying to update to 2.6.27.11 and
see if this is solved out. Any clues?

I have this problem with Jaunty alpha 3 (+ all updates) with a radeon
mobility HD 3200
With fglrx, When X starts the LCD screen washes out with weird lines.
Switching to a text console does not show a usable screen, although I
find I can still type.
With the radeon driver I get a black screen
The problem is still there.
In the attached screenshot (usr-share-vnc.png) nautilus shows the contents of
/usr/share/vnc after flipping the triangles. When I then do File New Window
and then double click on vnc, nautilus hangs - the screenshot was taken after 1
minute!

generated profiles such as Auto eth0.

Well, I discovered that with the last ubuntu release I only have this
problem when I try to attach files that aren't saved in my hard disk but in
a external server. I have no problems attaching files as long as they are in
my computer.

for ensuring that it gets looked at by the proper developers. You can learn

Kernel 2.6.27.11 doesn't solve the problem. This bug is critical and may
generate hardware problems (cpu and fan).

gnome logout button takes forever
It's not obvious what the issue is here. The only difference I can see
between the 2 screenshots is that the tabs expand to fill the available
horizontal space in the bottom one.

i would like to add that running a video or a movie causes the sata
errors and the Hdd speed decreases and become configured in a less udma
mode and if i left the video open for a few min after that the computer
will freeze

There is two emblems that have the same icon (an exclamation point),
'important' and 'stockmail-priority-high'.
If you click on 'important' one it shows the correct icon, if you do it on
'stockmail-priority-high it
