Atenção! Caso haja documentos de
Sidney, tive este mesmo problema no 9.04, que foi resolvido no 9.10.
Os problemas do 9.04 foram resolvidos com os seguintes comandos:
sudo kill all nm-applet
sudo service network-manager restart nm-applet --sm-disable
Só que estes comandos não funcionam no 10.10.

Voce precisa troocar de monitor. este problema geralmente é um erro de
hardware do video.
