try one thing..without the password..will work without password... dont
do it with any WEP encryption... ubuntu differs in its
encryption.dont give password to your wifi network

Ubuntu 12.04 hums along with a few burps, with all updates applied as
i write this, on my apple macbookpro.
have a roaming broadband connection, via reliance netconnect+ (3.1Mbps)
once connection is established, wish to share this with other devices
within wifi range of my laptop.
