Same problem with an old Epson Stylus NX215. I can scan but not print. The
prompt tells be it was completed but the printer doesn't do anything. I
imagine I have the drivers installed as it recognizes the printer, scans and
thinks it's printing. Seems like a common problem with 20.04.

A clean install is fine if I don't take updates. If I do take the
updates and reboot then I get heavy video corruption. This just started
today.
This is a dual boot system. The windows system has no issues. Appears
to be software and not a hardware issue.

already unhappy with the UX but getting rid of the extra questions will ease
the pain...

I am running 13.10 x86_64 and this bug seems to affect only the Trash
Bin, not the regular folder view, as shown in the attached. The Trash

used the machine for 5 days as it has been unusable, freezing after a

This bug was not present in Ubuntu 8.10 or 9.04.
In the Ubuntu 8.10 LiveCD there are no K*hwclock* links in the
/etc/rc?.d/ directories, which is correct, so /etc/init.d/hwclock.sh
doesn't get called with stop, and the hardware clock is not changed.
When Ubuntu 8.10 is installed, K25hwclock.sh,
all sentences short with one subject and one predicate (look it up :) )
use lotsa dot points for questions
leave plenty of white space to break up the chaos.

After booting a recent kernel with usplash (splash) and no frame
buffer (nofb), when using
Camper365, I have been trying to determine what could cause the behavior
that you describe.
There was a problem with 8.10, if installed, that was almost the reverse
of yours: the Fixed font would not be loaded at boot if usplash was on.
In fact, no font would be loaded, and the font from the
, but it looks like the font
save/restore code was added to 8.04 and 9.04 as well.

Having the same problem. I tried reinstalling most of the various X11
packages related to fonts, but it did not help.
Hope this gets resolved soon!

The install isn't quite how I wanted it anyway. I wanted to to put /home
and swap on the SD card. I'll do a fresh install, apply the patches and
then reboot.

I can tell you that it's not me - ... or at least not on purpose - and
the linux box that received this is not even on atm - I think it may
have something to do with the bug report system on the webpage -

makes a dist-upgrade to Intrepid a no-go for my server. I would like to
