Hi, Not using 9.04 at the moment, but many of your problems seem to have to do with a corrupted .Xauthority, or an issue with permissions on .Xauthority. If the user in question is not currently logged into the GUI, you can safely delete ~/.Xauthority (or move it to ~/.Xauthority.bak if you are
