Hi guys,
Unfortunately, as you know, I was unable to attend recent team
meetings due to LugRadio Live and other commitments. So, I'm a touch
late in commenting, but I'd like to nonetheless :)
I'm currently reading through all the materials that have been
generated, such as the project charter.
Melissa,
Thank you for cutting to the root and doing the first step to
marketing.
And that is answering the very basic question who is our
customer!
For those of you who may have missed this, Melissa put up a web site to
count Ubuntu users.

Bear in mind, though, that your current customer base is not necessarily
your target market.

Without wishing to devalue Mellisa's contribution, I don't see how the
Ubuntu Counter tells us who our customer is. I think the only data
that we could use is the location

Any thoughts on what icons we can use for the categories? In fact, do
we want icons?

Quick question about the Fridge: where should we send suggestions for

How do you pronounce vani? Is it with a short or long a? Van to

Nice suggestion.

Hi,
Marketing should also help people find out how to interact with the
existing governance set up in the Ubuntu community.
That sums up what I believe the function is, I do not see it as more
than an idea that is tossed around now and again,
Why is Melissa's Ubuntu Counter Important?
A fair question
There are two things I see of importance.
1) People are actually are doing it. If folks are willing to be counted
then perhaps they will actually register and provide some valuable
marketing feedback.
How valuable?
For example
Matthew,
Thanks for the input on the magazine charter and I agree with your
suggestions. The magazine project is without a doubt a very big project
and one that must be done right. IMO the charter documents what we are
doing and why are we doing it. If it doesn't, we should change it.
