Thanks for the reply and suggestion. I ran the suggested commands in the
link subsequently:
begin
sudo apt-get clean
sudo apt-get update
end
then
begin
sudo rm /var/lib/apt/lists/* -vf
sudo apt-get update
end
The sudo apt-get update ran without error. Last 2 lines from terminal

I ran the following from terminal.
mark@Paradise:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/twonkyserver status
Twonky server IS running.
twonkyproxy is running.
twonkytuner is not running.
mark@Paradise:~$ sudo /etc/init.d/twonkyserver stop
Stopping Twonky MediaServer ...
Stopping twonkyproxy
Stopping twonkytuner
