[Bug 1003272] [NEW] starting php generates : Unable to load dynamic library '/usr/lib/php5/20090626/sqlite.so'

2012-05-23 Thread boblinux
Public bug reported:

Hello,

I am running Ubuntu 11.10. Each time I run php, I get :

PHP Warning: PHP Startup: Unable to load dynamic library
'/usr/lib/php5/20090626/sqlite.so' - /usr/lib/php5/20090626/sqlite.so:
cannot open shared object file: No such file or directory in Unknown on
line 0

Actually, in php5-sqlite, in

/etc/php5/conf.d/sqlite.ini

extension=sqlite.so is declared

whereas no sqlite.so shared object is provided in directory

/usr/lib/php5/20090626

I do not really know php , but this seems to be teh reason, as about the
other extensions sqlite3 and pdo_sqlite, we have the corresponding .so
in /usr/lib/php5/20090626

actually, linking

ln -s sqlite3.so sqlite.so

changes the error message to

root@power4:/usr/lib/php5/20090626# php5
PHP Warning: Module 'sqlite3' already loaded in Unknown on line 0

so my diagnostic must be right

[Bug 988520] Re: After failed auth, subsequent auths in same context fail

2012-05-23 Thread Robie Basak
Verified fixed on Quantal. Just need the SRU for Precise now. Note that
the test script fails some other tests. This bug addresses the module
/bad-authtok test only.

** Description changed:

  SRU Justification

  [Impact]

If an authentication fails after preauth was requested, all subsequent
preauth-required authentications in the same Kerberos context will also
fail. This breaks password change when credentials have expired, and
also breaks try_first_pass functionality in Kerberos PAM modules.

  [Development Fix]

- New upstream release. Updated in Debian. Pending sync in Ubuntu.
- Verified in Ubuntu manually.
+ New upstream release. Updated in Debian. Synced in Ubuntu. Verified
+ fixed on Quantal using test case below.

  [Stable Fix]

  Upstream patch cherry-picked. Debdiff attached.

  [Test Case]

  testcase.sh attached.

  [Regression Potential]

Low: one line patch for missing initialisation written by upstream.

  Original report by Russ Allbery:

MIT Kerberos 1.10 (including pre-releases and betas) exposed a bug in
the tracking of preauth mechanisms such that, if an authentication fails
after preauth was requested, all subsequent preauth-required
authentications in the same Kerberos context will also fail.

This breaks password change when credentials have expired, and also
breaks try_first_pass functionality in Kerberos PAM modules.

Upstream has fixed this problem in their mainline with commit 25822.

[Bug 1003326] [NEW] IPv6 hosts incorrectly reported down

2012-05-23 Thread Kasper Dupont
Public bug reported:

When trying to scan an IPv6 host I got this error:

Starting Nmap 5.21 ( http://nmap.org ) at 2012-05-23 11:34 CEST
Note: Host seems down. If it is really up, but blocking our ping probes, try -PN
Nmap done: 1 IP address (0 hosts up) scanned in 3.26 seconds

The host is responding to pings, but nmap never send any pings to the
host. Nmap only send a few TCP packets to the host, however this
particular host did not have a TCP stack and does not reply to TCP
packets.

I don't know if this bug is fixed by upstream updates, but since nmap 6
has been released and has lots of IPv6 updates it is not unlikely that
it has been fixed upstream.

We believe this to be fixed in the upstream Debian package:

(I don't think there was ever a Debian bug for this but it was addressed

[Bug 1003369] [NEW] kinit can't change expired password with kerberos pre-authentication enabled

2012-05-23 Thread Jose Plans
Public bug reported:

Problem description:

The kinit command does not prompt for a password change when pre-
authentication is enabled and the password is marked as expired in ADS,
instead it falls back with an error:

kinit: Generic preauthentication failure while getting initial
credentials.

If the users defined in ADS do not have pre-authentication, then we are
correctly prompted to change the password.

This affects Ubuntu Precise LTS
$ lsb_release -rd
Description:Ubuntu 12.04 LTS
Release:12.04

How to reproduce:

1. Setup a Microsoft ADS and configure a user with pre-authentication enabled.
2. Expire its password.
3. In Ubuntu Precise, request a ticket:
$ kinit

Expected results:

A password change should be prompted as follows:
$ kinit
Password for user@KRB.DOMAIN:
Password expired. You must change it now.
Enter new password:

Actual results:

$ kinit
Password for user@KRB.DOMAIN:
kinit: Generic preauthentication failure while getting initial credentials

Tested the upstream patch with both 2008/2003 ADS and works as expected.

This has been reported upstream fixed both:
- In Debian: http://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=670457
- Upstream: http://src.mit.edu/fisheye/changelog/krb5?cs=25822

[Bug 1003455] [NEW] MAAS installation provides URL prematurely

2012-05-23 Thread Mike
Public bug reported:

When installing a MAAS environment from the 12.04 Server DVD, the
installer announces: You can access the MAAS user interface by going to
the given URL: http://10/MAAS; before the webpage is live. The
server still has to reboot to complete the install.

I recommend changing the wording to suggest that 'when installation is
complete, you will be able to... because that link is not available at
the time the message is displayed. Perhaps this seems really obvious,
but I think it's worth being accurate.

Can we also have this for natty? I believe there isn't much to change in the

I would be interested in having this on Natty since the issue we're
experiencing is on Natty and it's the only way of catching the error with an
automount issue.

[Bug 1003460] [NEW] MAAS warns about missing ISOs even after they've been processed

2012-05-23 Thread Launchpad Bug Tracker
You have been subscribed to a public bug:

When the system is installed, opening the MAAS dashboard URL provides a message
with a yellow background:
Some of the required system profiles are missing. Run the maas-import-isos
script to import Ubuntu isos and create the related profiles:
 sudo maas-import-isos

However, even after running the above process and confirming that
everything completed, that warning message remains. The message remained
until I began commissioing nodes, at which point it was replaced with
the Commissioning Nodes message.

The message should have gone away once maas-import-isos had completed -
even if I needed to refresh the page to make it update - which I tried
but it didn't.

[Bug 1003583] Re: make the --close-all-fds option in lxc-start on by default

2012-05-23 Thread Serge Hallyn
In quantal the default is now to not fail on inherited fds.

In precise, the default is still to fail. Since it sends a warning debug
message, I'm not sure that changing this behavior in an SRU is warranted.
Not that I can think of any case where changing the behavior would cause
a regression.

[Bug 998918] Re: openvpn openssl.cnf file missing

2012-05-23 Thread David Maxwell
This is exactly the problem I encountered and which needs fixing.

As a work around, I added a link to openssl-1.0.0.cnf with the name of
openssl.cnf in the same directory:

cd /etc/openvpn/easy-rsa
sudo ln -s openssl-1.0.0.cnf openssl.cnf

This worked, created the necessary certificate file and it is all
working fine now.

But that means that something is wrong with the package, as it seems to be
missing a file.
It also strikes me that there may be a missing openssl-1.0.1.cnf file.

[Bug 1003583] Re: make the --close-all-fds option in lxc-start on by default

2012-05-23 Thread Andrey Kislyuk
My issue is that debugging is made harder - errors can be highly non-
obvious because the default shell behavior is to pass the FDs through,
and they could have been inserted many processes upstream depending on
where you're calling the program from.

If you decide to release a fix for this in Precise, now would be the
time while it's fresh and adoption is low.

Also, inherited fd from parent followed by a crash was a bit hard to
follow for me. Maybe add on something like Inheritance of FDs is not
allowed. Use --close-all-fds to close them.

[Bug 1003656] [NEW] when adding a bond the bridge fails to acquire a dhcp address

2012-05-23 Thread andrew bezella
Public bug reported:

we're trying to migrate our network configuration from lucid to precise.
in 10.04 we tied eth0+eth1 together into bond0, then set br0 up on top
of that and assigned an address via dhcp. in 12.04 this only works if
br0 is configured with a static ip address. it fails when trying to use
dhcp. to simplify testing i've removed eth1 from the configuration
(sanity checked against http://www.stgraber.org/2012/01/04/networking-
in-ubuntu-12-04-lts/ ):

auto lo
iface lo inet loopback

auto eth0
iface eth0 inet manual
  bond-master bond0

auto bond0
iface bond0 inet manual
  bond-slaves none
  bond-mode 802.3ad
  bond-miimon 100

auto br0
iface br0 inet dhcp
  bridge_ports bond0
  bridge_stp off

the above results in a system w/o network connectivity. the dhcp server
reports requests from an unexpected mac addr (different each boot).
udevd logs timeout 'bridge-network-interface'. poking around a little
before the timeout shows the following 2 groups of processes:

  |-ifup,1361 --allow auto eth0
  | `-sh,1363 -c run-parts /etc/network/if-pre-up.d
  | `-run-parts,1364 /etc/network/if-pre-up.d
  | `-ifenslave,1392 /etc/network/if-pre-up.d/ifenslave
  | `-sleep,2380 0.1

  | |-udevd,599 --daemon
  | | `-bridge-network-,1429 /lib/udev/bridge-network-interface
  | | `-ifup,1457 --allow auto br0
  | | `-sh,1540 -c dhclient3 -e IF_METRIC=100 -pf
/var/run/dhclient.br0.pid -lf /var/lib/dhcp/dhclient.br0.leases -1 br0
  | | `-dhclient3,1541 -e IF_METRIC=100 -pf
/var/run/dhclient.br0.pid -lf /var/lib/dhcp/dhclient.br0.leases -1 br0

the ifenslave appears to be looping over that `sleep` (testing for
/run/network/ifenslave.bond0) until it is killed and the dhclient is
making its request w/the unexpected mac addr (also reported in `ip link
show br0`). interestingly br0's mac addr matches that of eth0 (as
expected) once bridge-network-interface has timed out and been killed.

a workaround appears to be adding the line:
  pre-up /sbin/ifup --allow auto bond0
to the auto br0 stanza.

[Bug 1003583] Re: make the --close-all-fds option in lxc-start on by default

Good point, the error message needs to be clearer about the fact that it
caused the container to fail to start.

And, so long as we're doing that, maybe we may just as well default to
closing the fds.

[Bug 994979] Re: ELinks Does Not Open in LXTerminal When Clicking On The Link In The Menu List

2012-05-23 Thread Serge Hallyn
Thanks for submitting this bug. It looks like the bug is not in elinks
itself, but in the configuration shipped by Lubuntu. The correct
command should be 'lxcterminal -e elinks', not 'lxcterminal -e -e
elinks'. I will re-target the bug.

[Bug 1003305] Re: package postfix (not installed) failed to install/upgrade: subprocess installed post-installation script returned error exit status 75

2012-05-23 Thread Serge Hallyn
Thanks for reporting this bug.

The upgrade log shows:

Running newaliases
newaliases: warning: valid_hostname: invalid character 40(decimal):
ruben-laptop.(null)
newaliases: fatal: file /etc/postfix/main.cf: parameter myhostname: bad
parameter value: ruben-laptop.(null)

Please find the line in /etc/postfix/main.cf which reads something like:

myhostname = ruben-laptop.@

and remove the '.' and everything after that. That should allow
newaliases to complete.

If you continue to have trouble, please reply to this message.

Could you tell us which release you are on?

On precise, the error I'm getting is

libvir: Domain Config error : internal error no supported architecture

which should be a simple fix in the libvirt templates, but doesn't seem
to match up with what you see.

[Bug 993291] Re: package nis 3.17-32ubuntu1.2 failed to install/upgrade: invoke-rc.d: unknown initscript, /etc/init.d/nis not found.

2012-05-23 Thread Michael Kadmiel
This really an easy work around please a dummy nis script in the
/etc/init.d/ directory, when you run update of the update package it
changes the name of the nis script to nis.dpkg-bak which allows the
upgrade to succeed.

place the following contents in /etc/init.d/nis and chmod it 755.
Then run the upgrade to package nis_3.17-32ubuntu4_i386.deb

script::
