Personally, I think Linus is being short-sighted. When we have much, much more power, and companies are actively begging to support Linux, THEN we make the switch. This would push them, through their clamouring, to create open specs at the very least, or better, to release GPL drivers. I do

If you uninstall Beryl, do you still get the error? I un-installed beryl completely, and rebooted, error had gone, reinstalled beryl and it's fine now... I had before only disabled beryl loading, but this obviously was not enough. dunno how I fixed it, but the un-installreinstall routine
