evdev package from Ubuntu 9.04 fixed all my issues (jumping mouse, non
smooth mouse during games/incorrect sensitivity).

I have returned to report that Karmic works flawlessly on my machine
now. I did a full install, updated to the latest packages and everything

It is easy to fix manually, as you only need to edit the configuration
of x and tell ubuntu that there is a LCD with a native resolution of
1280x800 ... why hasn't any of the developers added this info for this

V1, so I had to make the change to the current (first in my case) entry
in /boot/grub/menu.lst, and didn't need to run 'sudo update-grub'.

Thanks, I will set something up and obtain the logs. It may take some time,
because I only have intermittent access (I can only boot into the karmic

jaunty I had the thin clients set up to send their logs to the server in
specified client subdirectories, using syslog-ng. Karmic uses rsyslog by
default, and I haven't yet figured out how to open this up for external
logging.

occour on very different chipsets. You have 845G and the other bug is
for GM45. Please also upload /var/log/Xorg.0.log, and the outputs of

compiz on
xorg crashes when java app running inside swiftfox (or firefox) opens window.
when compiz is disabled, same java app runs fine.
