In my case, starting steam causes the text 'reporting 9 5 33 271' to be added
to /var/log/Xorg.0.log three times.
It's always printed twice in a row and again a few seconds later.

My system is a HP Pavilion laptop with a muxless Intel/AMD combination
(Intel Sandybridge HD graphics and AMD Radeon HD6770).

I just found out myself that the patched kernel comes with a nasty
drawback. My backlight comes up fine and I can control the brightness
just fine until I close the lid. After reopening it stays black no
matter what I do, including setpci.

Do you still see the bug, especially with karmic or karmic+xorg-edgers?
I had the openarena-benchmark from phoronix running last week. That ran just
fine on comparable hardware and it takes about 10 to 20 minutes to complete, I
guess. That was with current karmic development version +
