Strangely, I had not enabled the fglrx proprietary driver when this
happened (even though for some reason the reported system information
says it was installed). I ran jockey after the fact, finding both fglrx
and fglrx-updates grayed out and not activated, and I installed the non-
updated version

Also, rebooting into ubuntu and starting ubuntu again, did NOT fix the
problem. Only when I rebooted into windows, then shutdown, and booted
back into Ubuntu did the problem go away.

For those on precise (not quantal), could you test the xorg-server
package in ppa:ubuntu-x-swat/ppa ? X dying on resume seems to look
similar and at least 1 person had a dmesg captured of a Xorg segfault
here.

I am using the default German keyboard layout in a de_DE.UTF8
environment. When typing the key sequence ´ + c (dead_acute c), I am
getting ç (ccedilla), but I would expect ć (cacute).
The cause seems to be in /usr/share/X11/locale/iso8859-15/Compose, which

And what if instead of level 4, we put non-breaking space to level 3. I
find it is more convenient (and I think I am not alone).
So, instead of:
include nbsp(level4nl)
we put non-breaking space to level 3:
include nbsp(level3n)
This gives us back the Right-Ctrl. It does not break
Um, seems I was wrong. According to compose.dir, en_US.UTF-8/Compose is
responsible for the de_DE.UTF-8 locale. In that file, cacute seems to be
defined correctly, at least I cannot find the issue. Fixing the
iso8859-15 compose file does not fix the issue in an UTF-8 environment.
