in a black screen, backlight on, no cursor.

I have checked this. But by now only with the 27" Dell. (The resolutions
are anyway the same.)
Ubuntu offers resolutions up to 3840 x 2160 px.
The largest working resolution is 1920 x 1200 px.
Both higher resolutions (3840 x 2160 px and 2560 x 1440 px) result in a black

Thank you for taking the time to report this crash and helping to make
this software better. This particular crash has already been reported
and is a duplicate of bug #1543192, so is being marked as such.
Reverted. I changed my mind; that approach might break Unity8 and others
that want a root window in a window.
We need a proper solution. Either:
(a) Mir understand and accept client windows can be bigger than one output; or
(b) Xmir chop up the root window and display it as separate surfaces
