Well, according to BGG Shadows over Normandie is weighted at 2.33 and
Conflict of Heroes is 2.9, so your scale look s pretty accurate!Only 34
more days until wore starts back up.

Re: War game query

2016-07-13 Thread DrT
Thanks, Mark. I've heard other good things about it. On the war games "scale"
from simple to complex, my summary is the following: Memoir '44, Tide of Iron,
Heroes of Normandie, Conflict of Heroes, and the King: Advanced Squad Leader.
This also tends to correlate with historicity with more detailed games like CoH
and ASL being the most historically accurate. I did leave out Battlelore and
many others, but this scale is useful to me, especially when thinking of people
I could get to play with. I think HoN is Ina middle sweet spot, maybe.

Thoughts?

2016-07-10 Thread Mark Crane
Michael Barnes *loves* the Normandy series. Interestingly, he sold off the
main game but kept the Cthulhu variant, "Shadows over Normandie"

War game query

2016-07-10 Thread Anton
Have any of you played Heroes of Normandie? I'm wondering what people think of
it. I have been toying with Tide of Iron but HoN seems more accessible
especially for those less into war games?

BTW any players out there of the 1st Ed Battlelore system?

Thanks!
