I agree. Many universe packages like blender, me-tv, xine, even gimp-
plugin-registry depend on this, and having it in multiverse causes these
not possible to install if one chooses not to use multiverse (like I do,
because otherwise some truly non-free software might get installed
easily).

That isn't the way to fix it. If you want to use libraries that aren't
in the library search path, then you need to pass -rpath
/usr/lib/firebird/2.0/lib to the linker instead. Usually, libraries

Hi all,
I'm to trying the linux-source-2.6.31 and facing problems doing this
I copied and pasted the console message what I get here:

I was watching many youtube videos. It tends to crash for different
reasons, at different times, but it is easy to reproduce one way
flashplayer-nonfree crashes by loading 10+ youtube pages. The video did
turn grey and crashed Firefox 3.5 as well.

I can confirm this issue in Xubuntu 9.10. As can be seen in the
attached, the icon is missing between the camera(snapshot) and network-
manager icons in the panel. Also, the teatime applet properties is open
showing the missing teacup icons. It is difficult to pick the teacup
when you can't see
The map reading routines have been cleaned up. The biggest problems were
associated with network timeouts and file clean up. This has been fixed
in release 1.9.2

The changes look generally good, my hesitation is that you're making a
