I've installed Squeezecenter on a fresh Ubuntu install. There are two problems i am struggling with resolving: 1) During installation i got an error saying it could not create /etc/squeezecenter/ but on looking there I find the folder. So I didn't really take notice of the rest of the error.

Sorry, I was talking Fishbone rather than the default skin. From your first screen below select Home at the top left. Open up Music Library, if necessary, and select Albums. You can then use the menu at the bottom left to select the view you want. Steve. -- SteveEast

I just upgraded from stable (7.0) to testing (7.0.1-18702) on my Ubuntu/Gutsy (7.10) server and did not have these issues. There is also the unstable version 7.1-18719 available. What new features or bug fixes would this bring ? -- freelsjd

Thanks Steve - it all makes sense now, it was staring me in the face! I think my 'problem' was that I had been expecting to see a list of thumbnails when selecting Home/Artists, doh! Obviously this wasn't going to happen. Anyway - much appreciated, thanks. -- Gumboe

Just uninstalled firestarter and suddenly i'm able to connect to the machine. Guess that was where the problem was. But how do i connect to the SqueezeNetwork? The reason i had firestarter was that i could then share internet between eth1 and eth0. Is there some way to do this manually? Or

Did you compile both Perl and MySQL with gcc? This looks similar to a problem I had but to be honest, I had a LOT of issues sorting out SqueezeCenter on Solaris so things have become a bit of a blur. Check the makefile for the DBD::mysql module. If it refers to libraries in /usr/sfw/ it's
