[SlimDevices: Unix] Mysql issue with squeezecenter
Hello all, When I turn on my transporter it always takes about 30 seconds (or more) before the music starts playing and/or the transporter reacts to remote control commands. I found out that during this 30 second delay mysql is using al cpu time. As soon as mysql stops doing this music starts playing. I do have this issue for 2 years now and would like to try to solve it. Anyone any idea why this happens or how to succesfully troubleshoot this? [SlimDevices: Unix] No internet radio
Hey guys, I'm fairly new to both Linux and SqueezeCenter. I installed SqueezeCenter and all works fine, except that I can't get Internet radio to work. When I check the settings through the localhost I also see the Internet radio checkbox is disabled. I already gave the /var/lib/squeezecentger/Plugins dir full read and write access, but that doesn't seem to work as well. Any thoughts? -- beatfreax beatfreax's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=32301 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=66786 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
[SlimDevices: Unix] How do you run on Linux
I am switching over from Windows and need to know how to run SlimServer (now called Squeezebox I guess) on Linux. I got the download/install part done OK but I have no idea how to get this thing to run on Linux. How do you do it? Thanks a lot! -- Bruce S. Which flavor of Linux (ie, Ubuntu? RedHat?). The preferred install method varies a bit. -- snarlydwarf snarlydwarf's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=1179 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=66800 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

Bruce S. wrote: I got the download/install part done OK but I have no idea how to get this thing to run on Linux. How do you do it? The current name, even on Windows, is SqueezeCenter. The wiki tells you how to use the GUI downloader to install it on debian, ubuntu and related distros. And there are similar instructions for RedHat, Fedora, Mandriva and other RPM based distros. I run mine on Debian these days, and the installation system does everything you need, including all the dependencies and the automatic startup. So once its installed, my system just starts SqueezeCenter automatically, and I never even think of it. -- Pat Farrell http://www.pfarrell.com/ ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix

You might save yourself some time by loading VortexBox. It's a Linux distro based on Fedora 11 that has SqueezeCenter already running. -- agillis rip, tag, get cover artÂ… All you do is insert the CD! http://vortexbox.org agillis Lead Developer VortexBox agillis's Profile: http://forums.slimdevices.com/member.php?userid=21140 View this thread: http://forums.slimdevices.com/showthread.php?t=66800 ___ unix mailing list unix@lists.slimdevices.com http://lists.slimdevices.com/mailman/listinfo/unix
