Hi

i would really like to test this method.
The only thing for me is, that i can't find pcp-apmode.tcz in the options
list.
I am running: piCorePlayer | piCorePlayer v3.22 | linux
4.9.50-pcpAudioCore | piCore v8.01 | Squeezelite v1.8.7-999 | Wed Dec 20
07:44:29 CET 2017
Do i have to update anyhow or is there any other hint for me?

Thank you in advance

Andreas

1) Yes there is an empty .lircrc file at /home/tc/.lircrc
2) Outlook of ps
/usr/local/bin/squeezelite -n LivingRoom -o hw:CARD=IQaudIODAC -a 80 4
1 -v
So missing -i

I added this as you described, rebooted.
Outlook of ps
/usr/local/bin/squeezelite -n LivingRoom -o hw:CARD=IQaudIODAC -a 80 4
1 -v -i

It is still not reacting to remote bottom pushes.

Perhaps I screwed up something when I was installing piCorePlayer. I
installed Jivelite first and then removed it. I have also installed
LIRC and removed it a few times trying to get things working. So I will
do a fresh reinstall and see what happens. I will report back with my
results.

Thanks for your help.

I got SqueezePlay running fullscreen on Ubuntu 16.04.

It's quite funny.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] HOWTO: piCorePlayer disable power light and activity light on RPi2 and RPi3

2017-12-19 Thread Paul Webster

Good idea.
I have a Pi with touchscreen in the original case which does leak red
light out to the side.
It did not matter before but I recently moved it to be connected to the
turntable in another room ... and there the light was annoying.
This resolved that.

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] piCorePlayer IR support

2017-12-19 Thread ralphy

When using a slimdevices remote, squeezelite only needs an empty lirc.

For pcp 3.2x, If you've enabled lirc from the tweaks tab without
jivelite installed you should already have a zero byte .lircrc file in
tc's home directory.

tc@rpi2:~$ ls -l /home/tc/.lircrc
-rw-r--r--1 tc staff0 Jul 2 14:54
/home/tc/.lircrc

and pcp will have added the -i option to the squeezelite command line.

tc@rpi2:~$ ps -fe | grep squeezelite
1858 root /mnt/mmcblk0p2/tce/squeezelite -n Entertainment -o
hw:CARD=sndrpihifiberry -a 80 4 1 -r 192000 -R -u E -v -C 15 -i

If you're missing the -i try adding it to Various input box at the
bottom of the Squeezelite Settings tab and restart squeezelite.

Yes my bad, it's not WINS, it's in the regular Netbios protocol.
Works via broadcasts over the LAN.

Looks like the OP left the building anyway. He's probably right.

Wins has "just the same (in this case)" as DNS" - to use it youll need
to setup a Winsserver with a static IP for all the clients.
To activate wins in these days you'll need more steps than DNS - eg. The
Winsserversettings in your NIC IP Configuration is only in the extended
Parameters available.
