Davis,

You need to add load the net usb kernel modules.

Add a file named “netusb”. On your boot partition.

Using a usb WiFi stick getting it away from the rpi will work. Or use

Ah, if I remove the quotes from the wpa_supplicant.conf file (which
kinda contradicts the sample) to get the following line:
country=GB

then the kernel panic goes away, thanks.

However the problem of "no sound" apparently continues, and I'm still
not sure if I should see Bluetooth as a Squeezelite Output Device.

Hi,

I have a Pi Zero WH with a ETH-USB-HAT from Waveshare.

I want to connect with Ethernet. With setup Wifi in cli the setting is
empty after exit the menu.
A static IP with wired can be saved but I do not get a internet
connection.

I tried the beta pCP 6.0.0-b7 and the releases 5.0, 4.1., 3.5.

When I plug in the sd card to a Pi 2 or 3 everything is working fine.

Is this maybe a drive issue or is there a configuration missing?

Re: [SlimDevices: Unix] BETA: piCorePlayer6.0.0 - PI4 support

2020-01-10 Thread davis

I have v6.0.0-b7 on an rPi0w. I'm trying to use both WiFi and Bluetooth
to create a totally wireless "Squeezebox".

I have enabled WiFi, and it joins my SSID ok, and I've paired with a
speaker successfully. However, I can't seem to actually get any sound
out (I've tried playing with volume, but I'm not ruling that out as a
cause). I suspect this is because the "Bluetooth" option isn't available
in the "Squeezelite settings" - the list goes "Analog Audio" straight to
"HDMI Audio" and "USB Audio". Has it been renamed?
I've also seen this kernel panic in my diagnostics page. Paul said this
was because I haven't set the WiFi country, but I did that when I
flashed the card (snippet below from webpage) - I used "GB" as per the
ISO code:

I have just bought a RPi 4 to create a new Squeezebox emulator. I have
flashed the PiCorePlayer 5.0.0 image onto a 32GB microSD card using the
recommended software.
I have then inserted it into the slot on the RPi, plugged in a network
cable connected directly to my router and then powered up the RPi using
their own 3A/5v power supply.

The red LED comes on, the green LED flashes briefly then goes out. I
understand that there should be more activity from the green LED showing
that the microSD is being accessed. I have tried the same using a new
16GB microSD with the same result. I have also tried both cards with
PiCorePlayer 4.1.0 and have tried flashing with a different computer
using a USB card reader, but no joy.

I know the software is not being accessed as there is no network
connection created.

I have built two other SB players successfully, both using the RPi 3,
both working first time out of the box, so I have no idea what to do
next. Am I missing something?

Does this sound like a damaged RPi? Both microSD cards were brand new,
so I doubt it would be those.

Many thanks for any help.

Ok, I was using rune 5 beta before piCore and it played the 352.8 khz
file fine, at least mpd indicated it was playing it without any
resampling, they said they patched the kernel to allow 384 khz support,
on the other hand I couldn't tell any difference between native 352.8
and resampled 352.8 so maybe I should just convert them to 192 khz and
same some space.

Thanks

Hey guys,
I've made an installer to avoid wasting time everytime I want to
install/update lms on my server and nas.
It will download and install LMS without having to compile everything
every time and it will check for updates and update lms when requested.
I'm going to share it because maybe it can avoid some headache to some
of you.
To use it:

Code:

  (must be executed as root!)
  pkg install wget ca_root_nss
  wget -P /usr/local/bin/ https://audiodigitale.eu/repo/freebsd/lms_installer
  chmod +x /usr/local/bin/lms_installer
  lms_installer

Tested on FreeNAS > 11 and FreeBSD > 11

You can create a Favorite in LMS, then navigate to the Favorites menu
item. Unfortunately, the favorites editor doesn't provide a way to
change the icon field. The only way I've found to use a custom icon in
favorites is to shutdown LMS update the icon="html/images/radio.png"
field in the favorites.opml with a URL to a web server with the icon
file and start LMS again.

For example
https://stream.885fm.org/1;
icon="http://ralph-irving.users.sourceforge.net/images/socalfm88.png;
text="88.5 FM Southern California" type="audio" />

You could have LMS serve the icon as well, by placing the custom icon at
the same location as the default radio.png and just change the filename
at the end of the icon field.

The onboard RPi i2s hardware only supports 192k. You would have to do
USB to get those rates, and it can be very difficult with the RPI USB
weakness.

The PI4 has better chances with the USB
