Yes, but if you used a raw card program, you would only have to backup the portion of the card that has data. Reading/Writing all 8 gb of data takes along time. LMS is under 50MB installed, it's the cache that takes up bunches of space if you have a big library. You can always expand again if

Just updated from 3.21 to 3.22 via Win32diskimager to SD Card, but Jivelite install fails in web settings with this message: "[ ERROR] There was a error downloading pcp-jivelite.tcz" Extensions button returns following: Internet accessible. Official piCore repository accessible.
