Re: Anyone any experience with Livecode under Ventura?

2022-10-25 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
LC 9.6.9 (rc1) and LC 10.0.0. (dp4) works fine with me on Ventura.

I had Xcode 13.2.1 installed but that version does not work anymore.
I wonder which Xcode version I need now.
Which Xcode version works with LC now?

Re: Error: Unable to install app - Mac OS 11.5.2 , Xcode 13.2 (13C90), LC 9.6.7 en iOS 15.2

2022-05-09 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

Thanks for answering my questions.
First off all I downloaded a newer version of Xcode 13.2.1 yesterday but
that didn't make a difference.
Then Jaque replied on the forum and suggested an issue with Apple
Intermediate Certificate: https://developer.apple.com/support/expiration/
After checking Apple Keychain I noticed that there were double entries and
one of them was not attached to apps.
So first I downloaded all 4 certificates as advised on the Apple developer
page.
Then I deleted the wrong entry in Keychain, restarted my Mac and now it
works again.

Happy days!

William

Error: Unable to install app - Mac OS 11.5.2 , Xcode 13.2 (13C90), LC 9.6.7 en iOS 15.2

2022-05-07 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

Mac OS 11.5.2 , Xcode 13.2 (13C90), LC 9.6.7 en iOS 15.2
Yesterday I tried to put an app on my iPad 2020 with iOS 15.2 on it.
Building the app is no problem and gives no error message on my Mac
Putting the app with Xcode on my iPad however gives an error: Unable to
Install App

I checked the Provisioning Profile but the iPad is listed on it.
I did know this because there are other apps on it.
I did work before.

Am I overseeing something?

Re: Curved text possible?

2022-04-28 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Thanks!

I came up with sort of the same idea yesterday evening and I am tetsting it
now.
I load a local html file within the browser widget with circletype.js added
to the html file.

A native textfield (and some extra code) writes back into the html file and
then I refresh the card.
A snapshot gives me the curved text.

There is also Arctext,js that I want to test.

I will come back later with my result.

William

Re: Curved text possible?

2022-04-27 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi Craig,

The text will mostly be names at start (but could also be more words in the
future).
Draw with polyLines. Didn't think of that. A lot of coding I think.

Then I could also use SVG files to replace the text of the field.
Maybe easier to enlarge, rotate a bit and give another backgroundcolor?

The number of chars of fld "name" gives me the number of letters.
Is there a quick way to define which letter on which place in the name?

Curved text possible?

2022-04-27 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi There,

I am in the need for curved text.
User input via a text field need to have a copied curved text output.
Is this even possible in Livecode?
I was thinking of text to the points of a path? Something like that?

I just put it on the forum as well and attached an image with it to get a
better idea of what I want to do.

Is there a better way to check if images are the same? I now use imagedata

2021-12-29 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

Is there a better way to check if images are the same?
I now use imagadata.

In my app I have an example drawn image (5x5 matrix with dots, a Geoboard).
These dots are important because by touching them their Loc is used
(gStartLoc and gStartLoc)
Two dots will be connected by setting the points of the last grc to
gStartLoc & return & gStartLoc.
No problem here.

The idea is that the user copies my example on their matrix/geoboard by
connecting the dots.
To check if the made images (geoboards) are the same I make a snapshot of
both and compare the imagadata of these images.
Everything is fine as long as the user connects the same dots as the way
(length between dots) it is done in the example.
Then the imagadat is the same.

The geoboards can look the same but the connected dots can be different in
length so use imagadata to compare these is not the way to get it right.

Any ideas for a better way?

Strange thing: older App Store app fullscreen shown on iOS 15.2

2021-12-24 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

I got a new iPad 2021 with iOS 15.2 (10.2 inch) and downloaded some of my
own older apps on it from the App Store.
These apps have been there for several years and the last update was from
2019.
I noticed that these apps are shown fullscreen and that is strange because
none of these apps contain fullscreen scripting.
They were all made for the 9.7 inch iPads.

When I put a test app on it with LC 9.9.6 and Xcode13.2 the app is not
shown full screen.

Is this Apple and iOS 15?
Does iOS 15 show apps from the App Store fullscreen?

Re: [ANN] Release 10.0.0 DP-1

2021-11-23 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Been playing all day with LC 10 DP-1 and mostly testing Web/html5 and I can
confirm Firefox is also the fastest in WASM on a remote webserver.
Safari is the slowest. Most people I know use the Chrome browser however.
On Chrome OS speed varies depending on the state of the Chromebook (age).

Re: How do I change the textcolor of the selected text in a native iOS field?

2021-04-14 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Thanks for pointing me to "selectedRange".

put mobileControlGet ("field1", "selectedRange") into myTest
-- answer myTest //gives range 1,5
mobileControlSet "field1", "textColor", "255,0,0"

This doesn't work because all text will be colored and not just the
selectedRange.

How do I change the textcolor of the selected text in a native iOS field?

2021-04-13 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

How do I get the selectedText of a native iOS field?
I want to change the color of the text selection in the field.

How do I adapt this code I made? (this obviously only returns the first
char of the text in red)

-
on changeColor
mobileControlDo "field1", "focus", true
put mobileControlGet ("field1", "text") into tText
put char 1 of tText into tColor
mobileControlSet "field1" , "text", "" & tColor
mobileControlSet "field1", "textcolor", "255,0,0"
on changeColor

What is the easiest way to add another snapshot from the same rect to the same PDF file?

2021-03-22 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

In an existing iOS app I do this:
---
export snapshot from grc "printmarge" to tPDF as PNG
put specialFolderPath("documents") & "/file.pdf" into tFilePath
set the printPaperOrientation to "portrait"
set the printMargins to 36,72,36,72
open printing to PDF tFilePath
print this cd from 61,207 to 961,542
close printing

What is the easiest and fastest way to add another snapshot from the same

Hi Matthias,

Yes I want something like the standard share sheet on iOS.
And for instance I want to share the .WAV file with Apple Messages.

Do I need to associate the .WAV file with other apps?
Then I have to use custom URL schemes, I think.
Is that what you mean?

Re: How to share a recorded sound on iOS?

Hi Matthias,

With sharing I mean like the iOS share sheet.
A bit like using the mergPop with mergPopActivity but then with .WAV files.

I got it working with 'mobileComposeMail (with an attachment)' but in this
way you need to have an actived mailacoount on your iOS device.
And mailaccounts are not present on the iOS devices that will be used.

How do I shorten this script? Use 'repeat with'?

2020-11-12 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

Another question today.
How do I shorten this script?

set the loc of grc "k1" to cardWidth/2,cardHeight/2
set the topleft of grc "k2" to (item 1 of topright of grc "k1" -1, item 2
of topright of grc "k1")
set the topleft of grc "k3" to (item 1 of topright of grc "k2" -1, item 2
of topright of grc "k2")
set the topleft of grc "k4" to (item 1 of topright of grc "k3" -1, item 2
of topright of grc "k3")
set the topleft of grc "k5" to (item 1 of topright of grc "k4" -1, item 2
of topright of grc "k4")

I know I should use 'repeat with' but I am stuck.
repeat with x = 2 to 4
put "k" & x into tName
set the topleft of grc tName to (item 1 of topright of. grc? , item
2 of topright of grc ...?)
end repeat

Any help is appreciated!

Re: Best way to add an image to an oval graphic?

2020-11-11 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi Graig,

I think I understand it a bit better now.
The image I used has different dimensions than the graphic oval.
See screenshot: https://ibb.co/0tXkLHy

I could scale the image down to the same size (width) as the oval graphic
but then I don;t get the center of the image.
Because it is a pattern?
Is it possible to get the center of the image in the oval graphic?

an Emoji to a standard LC text field.
I use 'export snapshot' to PDF as PNG to print to PDF.
When there is only text in the field all text is printed to the PDF but
when an Emoji is added the Emoji is not printed to the PDF.
Am I missing something?
Do I need to add some code?

iOS 13
LC 9,6,1 Indy

Re: Chromebook apps?

2020-06-22 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
I am a longtime user of Chromebooks in education and most 'cheap'
Chromebooks' come with only 4 GB RAM.
The Chrome browser itself uses a lot of RAM already and my experience with
Android apps on Chromebooks is that they are slow (lack of available RAM)
or sometimes not fully functional/compatible.

Re: Pinch-Zoom gesture on native textfield. How to?

2020-03-10 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Thanks!

I tested the code on a normal/standard field and it kinda works.
I changed the multitouch-pinch code form image to fld and added a 'set
textSize ...'.
However it doesn't work as expected. The field is changing faster and
bigger then the text inside the field.

Then I found this script on the forum:
https://forums.livecode.com/viewtopic.php?f=53=13435=64556=pinch+zoom+text+field=bc8d11d77d2ab8de722b07bc4863fb09#p64556
Text is resizing but not smooth.

Greetings,

William

I have to square graphics (line style) on top of each other.
They have the same width and height and form a letter X.

How do I select the different graphics?

Mousedown, MouseLoc and points of graphic?

Hi there,

Another app update with the same errors.
And another 'ITMS-90683: Missing Purpose String in Info.plist'
This time 'NSBluetoothAlwaysUsageDescription' (and the app doesn't use
Bluetooth).

Did several updates this week and only one got this error back.
But within a day approved.
So from now on I wait for the review before uploading a new binary.

You can't select none.
The 'problem' is that there is one required key missing now so you have to

New app update: four errors in plist

2019-11-14 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

Today I uploaded an update for one of my apps to the App Store.
Now I have four errors coming back from Apple.
Still need to edit the info.plist but it'd easy to make a mistake with this.
When will this be fixed?

-
Got this notification back:
ITMS-90339: Deprecated Info.plist Key - The Info.plist contains a key
'UIApplicationExitsOnSuspend' in bundle shutthebox [shutthebox.app] that
will soon be unsupported. Remove the key, rebuild your app and resubmit.

ITMS-90078: Missing Push Notification Entitlement - Your app appears to
register with the Apple Push Notification service, but the app signature's
entitlements do not include the "aps-environment" entitlement. If your app
uses the Apple Push Notification service, make sure your App ID is enabled
for Push Notification in the Provisioning Portal, and resubmit after
signing your app with a Distribution provisioning profile that includes the
"aps-environment" entitlement. Xcode does not automatically copy the
aps-environment entitlement from provisioning profiles at build time. This
behavior is intentional. To use this entitlement, either enable Push
Notifications in the project editor's Capabilities pane, or manually add
the entitlement to your entitlements file. For more information, see
https://developer.apple.com/library/content/documentation/NetworkingInternet/Conceptual/RemoteNotificationsPG/HandlingRemoteNotifications.html#//apple_ref/doc/uid/TP40008194-CH6-SW1

App rejected - add parental gate

2019-03-16 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

An app update was rejected due to the fact I ticked the ‘Kids category’ in the
initial version of the app. In the app they can share an image outside the app.
The current quidelines say I have to add a parental gate now.
Is there anyone who has an example on how to do this?

Hi Bob,

It's on iOS.
Sound files are ok and sound ok on my Mac.

In the app the second time it plays faster/immediately.
Like it needs to buffer first?

App rejected because of camera permission modal alert!

2018-03-13 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

My new app 'FotoPuzzel' is rejected by Apple because the app needs camera
permission.
I did not clarify the use of this feature in the modal alert?
How do I change this?
Can I change this?

I just use MobilePickPhoto "camera"

The standard modal alert says:
FotoPuzzel would like to access the camera
This application requires access to the device's camera.

Apple's response:
-
We noticed that your app requests the user’s consent to access their camera
but does not clarify the use of this feature in the permission modal alert.
Please see attached screenshots for details.
Next Steps
To resolve this issue, please revise the permission modal alert to specify
why the app is requesting access to the user's camera.

Any advice on this?

Re: Reverse 'pixelcoloring' and total amount of colors

2018-03-05 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Thanks Mike that helped a lot!
I extended your script with this:

repeat with x= 1 to the number of items of tInstructions
put char 2 of item x of tInstructions into tChar
put "v" into tNaam
set the label of btn tNaam to tChar
set the showname of btn tNaam to true
put char 1 of item x of tInstructions into tLetter
if tLetter is "W"
then
set the backgroundcolor of btn tNaam to 255,255,255
else
set the backgroundcolor of btn tNaam to 90,200,250
end if
end repeat
---

Now it almost looks like this:
http://www.camelcaps.nl/pixelcoding/pixelcoding.jpg

One thing left:
If the last button(s) is/are white it doesn't have to be shown on the
instruction.
So how do I leave it out?
When I add this it almost works:
--
if char 1 of the last item of tInstructions is "W"
then
put the last item of tInstructions into fld "instructions2"
delete the last item of tInstructions
--
This fails if the last item is the first and only item (when there are 7
white buttons).
Any thoughts on this?

Hi Mike,

Thanks for your answer!
The exercises are actually binary exercises but the children don't know.
All they know is a 'puzzle' to solve with pixelcoloring.
Funny I can solve it this way :-)
Still figuring how to do it because the children instruction is not just

Reverse 'pixelcoloring' and total amount of colors

2018-03-05 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

This is quite a challenge for me.
I an trying to build a template in which users (small children) can
'pixeldraw' something and based on the drawing the instruction will be made.
The instruction is needed for other children to make the pixel drawing.
The instruction is quite special.

The template is a square with 49 buttons (7x7) for the coloring and 49
fields for the instruction.
The coloring of the buttons is no problem. The 'reverse' coloring is the
problem.
I can get the amount of a colors in a row (5 x white and 2 x blue) but how
do I determine on which place (in which buttons) these colors are.
The first row is: 3 white - 1 blue - 2 white - 1 blue
But how do I output it like: 3 - 1- 2 - 1 ? And each number needs to be in
another field.

---
on mouseup
if the backgroundcolor of btn "f1" is 255,255,255 then add "1" to field "v1"
end mouseup

or

on mouseup
repeat with x=1 to 7
put "f" into tButton
if the backgroundcolor of btn tButton is 255,255,255
then
add "1" to field "v1"
else
add "1" to field "v2"
end if
end mousep

---

What is the best way to do this?

Any pointers are welcome.

CameraControl gives wrong rect and rotated preview on iPad

2018-02-28 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

What's wrong with cameraControl on iPad?
In the IDE everything works fine: cameracontrol is shown on the given rect.
On iPad the rect is much smaller and the preview is rotated.
In the standalone iPad settings 'Landscape Left' and 'landscape Rght' are
activated.
Is this a bug?

I am on LC 8.1.8.

Re: Bold textStyle on 'Header Bar' widget?

2018-02-01 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Ok one step closer:
---
set the textStyle of widget "start" to "bold"
-
and with the chosen font of the widget set to [Styled Text) in the LC
Inspector it gives bold text.
But now all text in the widget is bold.

Can't figure out how tp only get the labet of the widget set to bold.
Anyone?

William

Width and height image gets bigger on changing angle

2018-01-20 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi,

When I add an image as a control to a new stack it gets bigger when I set
an angle of 270.

---
on mouseup
set the angle of me to 270
clone me
set the angle of me to 0
end mouseup
---

Width and height are changed by 1 px.
Is that normal behaviour?
How do I prevent this?

2018-01-17 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

I have several cloned images and all have the same name: ticket.
Of course there ID is different.
On close card I want to delete them.
How do I delete them all at once?
Wat is wrong with this code?

on mouseup
repeat with x= 1 to the number of images of this card
if the name of image x is "ticket" then put the ID of image x into GONE
end repeat
send ("delete GONE") to me in 0 ticks
end mouseup

How does 'Apple VPP Education' discount work?

2018-01-10 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

I was asked if i could add my apps to Apple's VPP education program.
I see I have two choices:
1. Available with a volume discount for educational institutions
2. Available with no discount

On this page it says you can enable 50% discount:
https://developer.apple.com/programs/volume/education/

Can anyone explain to me how this discounts works?

MergPop error on iOS 11.2 & LC 8.1.8

2017-12-08 Thread William de Smet via use-livecode
Hi there,

I am seeing an error on using MergPop with iOS 11.2 /LC 8.1.8 when saving a
PNG with the 'Save Image' button on the popover sheet.
It quits the app immediately.
'E-mail, Copy, Print, Save Files App' all work fine. Even Airdrop works
fine.

I do this:

try
put specialfolderpath("documents") & "/" & "cars.png" into tPath
export snapshot from group "cars" to file tPath as PNG
mergPopActivity "",tPath,"",""
get the result
end try
--

Anyone else seeing this?
Is there something I can change in my script?
