Hey guys,
I've had a wonderful experience creating RTFD files that are visible
(images too) in both TextEdit and Pages. TextEdit being the default
application, but opening nicely from within Pages. The documents, some
as large as 60 MB were created from a brand new TextEdit file into
Hello,
I want to create an automatic update function for my app, calling from the
splash stack. After having checked the internet connection and gathered all
path informations etc., what is the best method for the file transfer?

Hello everyone,
For my research, I often make stacks that process data in text files,
generally extracting the information I need, and organizing it in some
sort of array so that it can be analyzed. I was wondering if there is
a way to extract text from PDF files using

I've encountered this - there's a maximum limit to the size of an image
object in Rev - I've successfully gotten to 4000 x 4000 pixels, but if it's
too large you get an error in attempting to import the image
Bonjour Tiemo,
How to Download Data from the Internet tutorial might help you:
This stack explains how to test the user connection, an url validity,
why and how to use get url or load url, retrieve data from framed
pages, give an account of download progress, manage errors, display
Folks,
You can create a card, stack, whatever... but you can't go to it. You
need to use full references to use the cards or stacks created, but I
think you might be able to set the defaultstack. As for writting to
files, try using tempname() and then echoing the stack back to the
browser as a
OK, this is weird. I also come in at #5

Hello Eric,
yes, I have read your tutorial and it is very helpful indeed.
And for 3, do I care about something what you don't have to care about,
because it never runs wrong?
With adding a checksum you mean to compare the file size before and after
transfer? But you sound like you would never do
Thanks Jacque, Richard, Andre. Actually this is starting to be funny to
me... I don't have any problem saving files in the directories where my
script is doing its work; it's the 'create stack' command (actually
create inv stack ...) that hangs execution, which shouldn't have
anything to do
Dear Tiemo :-)
Yes, I have not added to this tutorial a checksum feature:
Actually, it would be welcome to ensure the process as it is done in
the Rev installer itself but there was enough topics in this tutorial
to not add something more... and stay understandable by all.

My push card has stopped working in a stack I've been working with.
Where do I look to see what, if anything, is being stored. When I go
to pop a card I get a flash of a cd and then back to the card I was on.

Hi Edward,
Sounds like a script is at work, moving you back to the card of origin
immediately after the 'pop' finishes. Is that possible?

You can pop the card into a variable:
pop cd into myVar
Then set a breakpoint and look at the content in the debugger.

I'm confused why this portion of a script refuses to run. It runs
fine from the message box. Any ideas?
put 4 into vUpperMe

Mark, toupper is a function - you're treating it as a command:
put toupper(char vUpperMe of tText) into char vUpperMe of tText
Best,

Muchísimas gracias. I knew it was a function, but wasn't sure how to
deal with what was returned. The message box auto-inserted a put.
