To be fair, I only became acquainted with it when, upon being asked rather
suddenly to teach a course in multimedia, snorted around the software on
our server and found it (and precious little else!).

Me, I use Photoshop. Wonderful toolbox
Us cheap-jacks use GIMP: takes a while to get used to - but
it is worth the work; and, fac it, the price is fantastic!
I use GIMP on Mac OS X and Ubuntu Linux.
GIMP is now available for MAC OS X without having to fool
around with X11.
