No, a Linux system and vnc, specifically Ubuntu 18.10 and TigerVNC, and
I've already taken all the steps in terms of allowing tcp connections to
pulseaudio, and the logs show quacamole successfully connecting to pulseaudio
but still no output.

I haven't been following all of this but are you connecting to a linux
system & xrdp?
If so there are some steps you will need to do to get sound from pulseaudio.

For RDP you don't need anything additional - since RDP includes audio, it
will be handled within RDP and Guacamole.

It was something with parallel build. In this case vnc didn't go,
I also got different strange errors on different builds.

which is six core, 12 threads, I use j13 so it uses all the threads plus
