2010/3/10 CRANFORD, CHRIS chris.cranf...@setech.com When upgrading Struts from 2.1.6 to 2.1.8.1; I found that for some reason my application isn't actually loading struts. Did anyone experience this problem when they upgraded? Is there something specific I should check or be aware of? It is as if the framework just isn't being loaded via web.xml. Did you use a new filter? Do you have any exceptions? Before I go digging deeper, could someone confirm that it is possible to use
OGNL to set the location in the @Result annotation at run-time or must the
annotation be set at compile-time.

I'd also like to make sure that no memory leaks happen over time (I was getting a memory leak when the beanswrapper cache was turned on in combination with another freemarker Configuration in the same Struts 2 app). It was very a simple test, just one user, the first request was for a fresh application (just started) and the following were exactly the same but the application was already wormed. This test base only on Freemarker caching mechanism. Ok, that's a good idea to compare with other versions and I'll try to do it next week. It's a Struts2 specific interceptor to do background work, please read about ExecuteAndWaitInterceptor. Just that interceptor is using new Thread, normally Struts2 don't create additional threads.
