Starting developing

I'm trying to get started with some Merlin development. However, I'm a bit confused about the process. I downloaded Eclipse and added the Metro Studio plugin from http://www.apache.org/~oberhack/eclipse/updates/ following the directions, it seems to create a HelloWorld component pretty easily.
