[Sorry if you get this twice; I sent it to the list but didn't see it show
in in the archives. I assume the list must silently reject messages from
non-subscribers.]

I'm trying to get started with some Merlin development. However, I'm a
bit confused about the process.

I downloaded Eclipse and added the Metro Studio plugin from
  http://www.apache.org/~oberhack/eclipse/updates/
following the directions, it seems to create a HelloWorld component pretty
easily. However, I'd then like to build and run my block. It doesn't
seem to have any "Run As -> Merlin Container" option available like I see
in
  http://www.apache.org/~oberhack/metro/studio/docs/user/ch01s04.html
. I also don't see anything under "Window -> Preferences" that might
help (it has a "MerlinDeveloper" section, but nothing is editable.

[Feel free to tell me I should be doing something different like editing
in emacs and compiling from Cygwin; I've never used Eclipse before, so if
it's difficult to make work with

Also, if I want to add other jars (Apache Axis, Hibernate) to the project
and have Merlin load them correctly, is there anything special I have to
do? Can I just add them to the project alongside
avalon-framework-api-VER.jar and avalon-framework-impl-VER.jar?

[Also, building Avalon from the tree had problems under cygwin but worked
fine from a windows Command Prompt. I don't know if other people have had
this problem and it's not a big deal for me, but I figured I'd report it.]

Thank you very much,
Dan
