Thanks for getting back.
We'll check those to see if we can get to the root problem. In the
meantime, I deleted the VM instance and created a new one. Extraction works
from the new instance, so I'm thinking something happened to the old one
during a server outage.

Can you please check the MS logs why it failed to copy the volume ?
Is there a DB entry for this volume in volume_store_ref table ?
