Filed a new bug report 35631 https://bugs.freedesktop.org/show_bug.cgi?id=35631 If I turn off Auto save all seems ok, so a workaround as long as I regularly manually save. I have the feeling that there is something amiss in the autosave code as bug 34805 relates to autosave not working at all.
