Alex,
I've just installed LO Version: 4.2.5.2. On two different boxes I'm
getting the same error as before when I try to open a db form or table.
I'm NOT installing from the packages, but from the *.deb download at the
LO website. So, your idea no longer makes a lot of sense to me. I've

We are talking about a specific version of LO, on a specific OS, writing

It is corrupt in all of the places where a "backup/autorecovery" should be.

A nice theory, but in my experience working in the field this is almost
never completely possible. Often one will get a fairly detailed spec to

Hi,
I have tried this on windows (XP) and linux (Fedora) and I can not
reproduce it. A couple of basic questions:
I am assuming you are talking about a writer document?
is the document odf, doc, docx?
Cheers

I agree that planning is key. I started with a spreadsheet until the
data source was stable. The plan is to import the data into Base, do
some reports, report my progress, then gather comments and suggestions.
My guess is that the database will grow - I just don't know to what.
So, I may end up
Hi,
I have not tried this previously but wish to do so now. My problem is
that I want to export a selection of text in the main document but when I
select "Export as PDF" the 'Range' option is greyed out. I cannot select
anything and the default is 'All'. Is there a setting somewhere that I am

If you are going to create a database, you plan it THOROUGHLY! Beginning
with a small simple database and expanding it to a very large one is only
asking for a complete disaster! Unless you are using a flat database, your
tables need to be in at least fourth normal form. Repeatedly adding add
I encountered a most infuriating problem today when working with LO on
OSX - file corruption when writing to an external disk drive.
As I'm often having to work with different machines, and different OSes,
I have an external FAT formatted LaCie hard drive to store my files on.
This works great on
If I load a document into LO Writer (after I'd entered user information)
it automatically jumps to the position in the file I was on when I last
saved. Very nice.
However, this helpful feature doesn't seem to work correctly if the file
has text in columns. In this case the app does jump to the cor

Hi :)
Errr, i had a similar(ish) problem with an .XlsX and got around it by
copying the entire sheet's contents into a new sheet. I then had to
readjust all the column widths (luckily the rows sorted themselves out
automatically).
It's not an elegant solution but it impressed the client that i wa
