Hi :)
A good way of reading this mailing list is to use either GMane or Nabble.
It seems those routes allow people to avoid getting emails directly and
just pick the threads that interest you, perhaps even subscribing to just
those threads. I prefer Nabble because it gives the extra functionality

Hi :)
I'm sorry i still haven't compared your instructions with the ones already
on the wiki. :(
It might well be the case that the wiki can be improved because the
instructions in your first response were superbly succinct and yet very
clear. An ideal combination! :)

Hi :)
I generally just double-click on the Pdf's icon and it magically opens it
in something suitable.
There are a lot of Pdf-readers for Gnu I'm using Evince on this
machine at the moment. Pdf editing is a lot more tricky.

Hi Folks,
In Libre Writer 4.3.5.2, I wanted to change the plain text to single

appears double-spaced although it says it's single spaced but isn't

A likely culprit is a specific paragraph style (default key F11 to see
styles).
Check the "Font Effects" tab. The "Effects" entry there allow you to change
the text to Capitals, Lowercase, etc.

I couldn't catch exactly what are you trying to do.
Did you mean the vertical spacing among lines or the horizontal among
characters?
If you started with "plain text" why doors it have such a (double?) spacing?
What font are you using?

Chapter 3 of the "Getting Started Guide", the chapter about "Styles and
Templates". In MS Office their equivalent can often cause problems but in
LibreOffice the system is different and makes it MUCH easier to produce
much higher quality documents with much less effort.

Hi :)
Often it seems that the better someone's English is the less likely they
are to be a native English speaker. Using it all the time sometimes means
getting sloppy with it. My grammar has gone down-hill quite a lot since
starting on this mailing list. I used to take great pride in always
