Re: [libreoffice-users] Fwd: Looking for expert help

2016-08-29 Thread Bruce Hohl
I totally agree with Joe's comment. LO including Calc has an excellent PDF
export feature with many options (review the various tabs at File > Export
to PDF). Also, print ranges can be set by Tab/Sheet, cells set as
non-printable and Headers & Footers can be used to identify content, page
numbering, etc. In fact, I use this capability routinely to prepare
professional quality PDF versions of financial reports. It's much easier
for "top managers" to page through a PDF versus the "complex" navigation
required by a spreadsheet.

... and if your get carried away you can help toki with his "Abusing Calc"
users guide. He plans 2 chapters on using Calc as a text editor :)

You can EXPORT PDF directly from CALC. Then you have no need to
copy/paste, just attach the pdf.

Hello,

I am building a spreadsheet which performs numerous calculations related to
solar energy performance and financial modeling. I need the calculations
and resulting charts to be compiled into a presentable format which can be
emailed as a PDF.

Currently, I cannot seem to copy and paste a chart or graph from Calc into
Writer using DDE. The idea is to create multiple proposals using the Calc
spreadsheet and then individually save and email the essential information
in PDF format.

I would greatly appreciate any assistance.

[libreoffice-users] Extension install failure

2016-08-29 Thread Facundo Mateo

Hi,
I am developing an office extension for my company.
It is based on Java and I have generated an oxt file. My initial
installation and testing activites succeded.

*_Environment_*
OS: Windows 7
Libreoffice versions: > 3.5.X , 4.X, 5.X
Java versions: jdk 6, jdk 7, jdk 8

_*Problem*_
One of my test cases consists in plugin reinstallation or upgrade.
Whenever I try to upgrade or reinstall using Extension manager from
oxt file , I get an error:

" *Could not create java implementation loader*"

Java 6,7,8 are installed and detected by openoffice.
Different oxt files from http://extensions.libreoffice.org/ have
been tested. The same problem applies.

Some screen captures of my configuration and test (spanish) :

Armin,

I think it is sorted for OP by using an ODF document. But you might have a
read of

http://nabble.documentfoundation.org/Discussion-about-highlighting-MS-compatibility-issue-tt4139399.html#none

and the linked BZ issues to see comment(s) from Tamás on dealing with round
trips to OOXML formatted documents.

Re: [libreoffice-users] Save button

2016-08-29 Thread jorge
Hi Henry and all:

I think that style «Automatic (Human)» is the most basic style (default
for LO), and doesn't have much particular characteristic as have the
other styles.

Jorge Rodríguez
