Yes, pencils and paper are the way to go. As for the inventory, I would
always prefer a simple database over a spreadsheet. Databases are so much
easier to handle over the years (but a bit more difficult to start with).

Replicating your steps, I get a copy of Sheet2 at position #1 and any
relative reference to the previous sheet needs to raise a #REF! error
because you told me to reference a cell on the previous sheet. The error is
perfectly clear, wanted and informative. There is nothing wrong with errors.
Errors
Having sheets named Sheet1, Sheet2, Sheet3 etc. any reference from
Sheet2 to Sheet1 or from Sheet3 to Sheet2 refers to the _previous_
sheet. When you copy this reference to the first sheet, then there is no
previous sheet which is why you get #REF!.X1

Otherwise, the printable sheet may have a print range defined. Once you
define print ranges to exclude other ranges from printing, you've got to
define print ranges for every sheet you want to be printed.

I have all VBA options disabled.
Can I have a flat hierarchy of libraries and modules?
