[libreoffice-users] Calc HH:MM:SS to decimal
does anyone know if there is a formula for a cell that will transform the HH:mm:ss from another cell into a decimal equivalent? example: Cell A1 has 10:45:20 Cell A2 would change to 10.75 or Cell A1 07:26:15 Cell A2 would change to 7.44 (or round it up 7.5) Thanks Russell -- To unsubscribe e-mail to: users+unsubscr...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
[libreoffice-users] Calc Defect
How do I report a found flaw in the software. Here? Try this: Start a new LibreOffice Calc select any cell and format it to time 876613:37:46 format code [HH]:MM:SS now enter a time like 10:05:22 (this is 10hr 5min 22sec) Above looks good, right! Now enter 10:11:22 (10hr 11min 22sec) What do you see? Problem? If you have the same problem you will notice this happens from any time between 10:10:00 to 10:13:59 Funny, you can enter a time like 10:09:62 and 10:10:02 will display. But you can not enter 10:10:02 directly. I have come across other times that do the same, but didn't keep a record of which ones. This happens across OS platforms and versions. I first found this problem when I installed LibreOffice ver 5.1.0.3 x64 on Windows. I found the same problem on my Linux Mint 17.3 LibreOffice 5.0.3.2 I would like to start using LibreOffice but I have switched back to Open Office because I need this time format to work. Q: How can I change the default? Regards, Since you only have a 'fixed' and a 'dynamic' one, you cannot change the 'default' one. ;) (Or, more info is needed. What are you actually trying to do?) I think if you were being a little less clever you'd guess that he is trying to set either the fixed or dynamic date function to be the default one if he just inserts a date. Currently, at least on my system, the default is fixed. I'm not sure you can alter that, but that seems to be the crux of his question. You could create a Macro (Tools/Macros/Record Macro) And add it to your menu (Tools/Customize/Menu) - I do realize that this is not an answer to the question asked - I also realize that this is not in 'LibreOffice', but in 'LibreOffice Writer' (which is a part of the other one, but i seems to be using Calc more often...) Hi Martin, I think you can achieve what you want by making a template for your letterhead, then setting the date as a field: Insert--Fields--Other (NB NOT Date) Then you will be presented with a table of potential fields. Choose Date and you can then select Date (fixed) or Date - the latter gives a variable date, and you can select the format you want to display it. Note that the variable date will change each time you edit the document. OTOH you may actually want Date (fixed) as this will be the current date when you start your new document. You get the latest version of a full featured HSQLDB without restrictions, many more functions, the access control and safety you would expect from a database application. You can write a configuration file to run a server for concurrent access. Drawbacks: - Embedded HSQL requires another Java config. Re: [libreoffice-users] Hiding paragraphs not working
I am a new Mac and LibreOffice user. A bad combination, no doubt. In any case, after a number of days of trouble-free use, I tried to shut down a LibreOffice window and, in due course, ended up with a popup containing the message: The application LibreOffi, unexpectedly quit while trying to restore its windows. Do you want to try to restore its windows again? The options are don't restore windows and restore windows. Selecting either had no effect and my computer was hamstrung. I spoke with Mac support several times. They helped me recover use of the computer. Subsequently, I uninstalled LibreOffice and installed it again, but the message persists. Can anyone tell me how to clear this situation. Thanks very much for any assistance that can be provided. Another would be to use a virtual machine. Win98 might even be fine in a virtual machine on fairly low-spec physical machines. Mostly legacy stuff opens just fine in LibreOffice. [libreoffice-users] 2Q -- WollMux for LibreOffice? -- Archives area?
The WollMux extension is listed on the extensions site but clicking on it leads to a page missing error. When downloading and trying to install it from a third party, it says it's unable to be installed due to OOo not being installed. Will there be a version available for LO? Is there an archives site where such basic questions can be searched? The mailing list signon doesn't mention any archives area. bw Russell J. Trying to use LO 3.4.2 on Win 7 x64 and can't get browser plug-in to work -- been trying to read some of the LO manuals on line, so program/browser seems to fail half-way -- screen gets half-greyed out (with white in other half of window where od should be viewable but nothing to read!) -- thankfully pressing back arrow enables previous page view, where document can be saved easily enough -- not a big issue overall, compared to many others, but a pain none the less. bw to all Russell J Wilson Dunedin, New Zealand -- For unsubscribe instructions e-mail to: users+h...@global.libreoffice.org Problems? http://www.libreoffice.org/get-help/mailing-lists/how-to-unsubscribe/ Posting guidelines + more: http://wiki.documentfoundation.org/Netiquette List archive: http://listarchives.libreoffice.org/global/users/ All messages sent to this list will be publicly archived and cannot be deleted
