What is the current speed? Usually operator has their error code when it's
partner exceed the limit.

you didn't supply any good guidance for us to help you sir. first of all we
all need to know what kind of smsc do you connect, how is your application
developed, what is your telco smsc rules. but actually Kannel does have
directive not to retry failed messages. It is on the user guide :)

 it depends on your provider if they support it. It should be a

As far as I understand, Aldo wants to implement Bulk SMS application
using Kannel, It has not to do with Cell Broadcast. So SS7 and other
Core Network related protocols are irelevant.
The script can be created in your application side, retrieving
subscriber list from DB, then calling HTTP interface that Kannel
provides.

About TPS limitation, you can control it in your script.

It is explained in userguide, section Running SMS Gateway, parameter
_to_

to   phone number list
  Phone number of the receiver. To send to multiple receivers, separate
  each entry with space (' ', '+' url-encoded) - but note that this can
  be deactivated via sendsms-chars in the 'smsbox' group.

I think it is not possible to send to more than ten MSISDNs in one
request, but I'm not sure.

BTW, is it so hard to read and understand userguide?

For this you can create some shell/PHP/ script that use the HTTP CGI

Another simple way to do a massive broadcast is to have SQLBOX and insert

Not so sure what you mean... but.. if you mean cell broadcast messages, then
it depends on your provider if they support it. It should be a
network-provider. I don't think they allow aggregators to do cell
broadcasts.

Hi,

You look pretty much OK. Just enable admin-password and add an smsbox-route
group. For details and help with your new smsc, check the user guide. It has
some excellent examples.

 How can I make an application to connect to kannel over smpp and not HTTP?

Re: Help Please!!!!!

2008/5/14 Alejandro Guerrieri [EMAIL PROTECTED]:

 Kannel can act as an SMPP _client_. That means, connect to an SMPP server
 (usaully a Carrier's SMSC) to send and receive messages. This is typically
 the case of ESMEs/VAS providers, where you have an application and want to
 send /receive messages to/from it.

 You need an SMPP server if you want a third party to connect to you using
 SMPP to send/receive messages over links you have with the carriers. This is
 tipically the case for integrators/resellers. There are a couple of such
 implementations, none free afaik.

 Stipe Tolj has one called smppbox, contact him in private if you want.

 I have looked at that issue too and you should write your own smsbox that
 implements SMPP instead of HTTP. The Kannel user documentations says you can
 easily write one, but I guess that is only true if you are good with C

 My educated guess is that you should replace the smsbox's HTTP client with
 an SMPP client/server that would allow you to route messages in/out the
 bearerbox. The SMPP client part is already done in Kannel, so I'm sure you
 can re-use that.

 Does anyone know about an existing smppbox?

Re: Help Please!!!!!

2008-05-14 Thread Eduardo Raad
Gabriel,

That is exactly what smppbox from Stipe can do. It will enable a direct
connection between an external application (ESME) and Kannel. In this case,
Kannel acts as a SMPP server and your external application would act as the
SMPP client.

Re: Help Please!!!!!

2008-05-14 Thread Alejandro Guerrieri
Just a tought: I don't know your particular scenario and requirements, nor
the reasons for your app to require such a setup, but maybe if you already
have SMPP connections with the carriers you could bypass Kannel and
implement the connections at application level.

If that's your case, there's no need to use Kannel as a proxy between the 2
SMPP sides (unless you use it for routing/accounting/whatever, of course).

Alejandro

Some help please

2007-01-25 Thread Carlos Anibarro
Heyas

My name is Carlos, I work at Tigo Bolivia.

Im running kannel as wap gateway on my network

Kannel is getting all the accounting packets fine . . .

yyy' for session id ac190c01e00bb388 added.

When I browse from my nokia mobile I have to configure a proxy on port so
the phone surfs.

So, when I oipen pages from my mobile, they don't appear in the kannel logs at
all, they show only in the proxy's log that I use, and therefore no X-MSISDN
header is been sent.

What changes should I do so I get the MSISDN headers?

Is there a way that my proxy on port (im using tinyproxy) uses kannel as
upstream proxy in order to send the MSISDN header? What port should I connect
to? And what should I configure in kannel to make it a proxy too.

Thanks in advance.

Carlos,

the Kannel supports only WAP 1.x so there is no native way to use RADIUS
from that in some proxy providing services for WAP 2.0.

Ericsson AT Commands: Help please

2005-07-17 Thread Ammar Alammar
Dear users,

I am writing in order to request help with attaining the correct AT commands for the Ericsson r520m.
The following is a set of notes capturing the problem:
~~~
1) The sample config file modems.conf (attached) shipped with Kannel contains the following:
 group = modems
 id = ericsson_r520m
 name = Ericsson R520m
 detect-string = R520m
 init-string = AT+CNMI=3,2,0,0
2) However, when I run the bearerbox process I get the following error:
 See attached capture titles bearerbox-capture.txt
3) The smsboax runs perfectly. When I attempt to send an SMS via an
HTTP request it works and responds with SMS Sent. It is simply the
bearerbox that is not 'talking' to the phone correctly.
4) For completness, I have attached the kannel.conf file.
Any help would be great, especially in understanding the format of the init-string.
hi'
im having some issues with my installation of kannel. i configured and runn it fine and its up and running.for dialin im using mgetty which also is working okthe problem im having is that when i try to browse on my phone it does not show anythingthen times out. is there something im missing?.the mgetty is using Autoppp to connect incomming callswhen my microbrowser sends a request through ppp where do they go...coz i know that the boxes on kannel ie bearebox and wap box, listen on ports 9201 to 9208so could it be that the requests are not being sent to those ports...and if so how do i know where they are going...and how do i redirect them to the WAP ports?
bellow is my configs for kannel and the logs from messeges
this is my wapkannel.conf
kwtls help please!
2003-11-17 Thread Raj
Hi
I was wondering if there is any documentation on how to use the kwtls patch
of kannel?  I've trawled through lots of Google search results but not found
anything useful yet...
If it is straight forward enough, please let me know how to use it.
Thanks in advance!
Regards
