That's very neat. The file is gone now, thankfully, but I'll have to

earlier, but the only thing in the file is an empty
array, []. However, after installing updates last night and deleting
the file once more today, the file is now (hopefully) permanently gone.
I still don't know what created it but I suppose it doesn't matter now.

I couldn't
tell you why you experienced this issue on a system that doesn't have
Nvidia, but I can say for certain that these same exact programs do not
have issues running under Wayland on my other non-Nvidia computers.

sounds promising. If I can manage to find contact info for HP, I might
ask them if the printer actually supports IPP Everywhere, and the list
is just out of date. Can't hurt.

find a bunch of "pulse" recording devices available to
choose from, and now recording works just fine.
The in-application monitoring doesn't seem to work very well, but as far
as I can tell that's just a problem with Audacity in general.
