But, I can tell you I have received ham radio signals from around 3.8 MHz up through 1.2 GHz on appropriate ham bands. I've also received railroad dispatchers (161 MHz region), and innumerable pager transmitters, aircraft ADSB, ATC, FM broadcast, NOAA broadcasts (162.5 MHz region), and so forth. Others use them for satellite weather maps send down from space craft. Most anything between "0 MHz" (hundred kHz-ish frequencies) through about 13.5 MHz (null at 14.4 MHz) and from about 20-25 MHz up through 1.7 GHz. Some frequencies require suitable preamplification. I haven't used an rtl2832 for tv reception, so I don't know what packages you need installed. rtl-sdr is a good one to have because it provides a library api to the device, and will probably be used by any application programs. I see this in the page you pointed to. Note: Please make sure your region can receive DVB-T signal. Can you receive digital signals in your area? In my area, they need a tall antenna because the transmitter is partially blocked. Unless you live very close to the transmitter, I doubt the little antenna that comes with this will work. It should work for fm with a reasonably strong signal (in an urban area). This page seems to be from someone who has done what you want to do. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=26IrTFR_G74 ___ users mailing list -- users@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org

Build .rpm for X64_64 only
I wrote a spec file to build a .rpm for an application working only on 64 bits machines. The package builds fine and is in this form: myapp-version.fc25.x86_64.rpm Now, $ fedpkg --dist f25 lint complains: E: no-binary Googling I found the package should be of the noarch architecture. Adding BuildArch: noarch right below Source in my .spec file leaves me with: myapp-version.fc25.noarch.rpm and fedpkg lint doesn't complain anymore. My question: is this the correct way to build my .rpm, using the noarch in the spec file? Or shall I keep myapp-version.fc25.x86_64.rpm and ignore the ling Error? Just changing the alias to do a shutdown > rather than a reboot would probably make shutdown fast as well. I tried this today and it failed! No reboot at all: computer stays alive with a black screen and fan running. I installed the last kernel available for fedora 24 (4.8.16). When I do not work with computer (ie. Just start it, log-in and shutdown) the computer shutdowns normaly. If I do something (read my mail, open a text file...) the computer is unable to shutdown. Conclusion: a computer is not made forworking! Just have it, start it and stare at your background image (and do not change it, or you will be unable to shut it down!). Chris Murphy says that it is a "regression". OK! So on fedora 27, the system will be unable to even start! -- François Patte UFR de mathématiques et informatique Laboratoire CNRS MAP5, UMR 8145 Université Paris Descartes 45, rue des Saints Pères F-75270 Paris Cedex 06 Tél. +33 (0)1 8394 5849 http://www.math-info.univ-paris5.fr/~patte signature.asc Description: OpenPGP digital signature ___ users mailing list -- users@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org
Re: deltarpms save almost no space
With the latest push, it's creating drpms both between the 2 latest versions, and between release and latest. But it didn't create the drpms that were missing before. For example, in https://dl.fedoraproject.org/pub/fedora/linux/updates/25/x86_64/drpms/ there's still only thunderbird-45.4.0-1.fc25_45.6.0-3.fc25.x86_64.drpm (there should have been one from 45.6.0-2 to 45.6.0-3, but that update was from before the fix) but for the just released 4.9.3 kernel there's both kernel-4.8.16-300.fc25_4.9.3-200.fc25.x86_64.drpm and kernel-4.8.6-300.fc25_4.9.3-200.fc25.x86_64.drpm. So should be good going forward, if you're already up to date. ___ users mailing list -- users@lists.fedoraproject.org To unsubscribe send an email to users-le...@lists.fedoraproject.org

I had the same issue. After switching to ahci, windows did not boot anymore. I think that back to Raid on did not make windows work any better. In AHCI, you can first reinstall windows if you want to keep it and then Fedora. Windows can be downloaded on the windows site. Be careful with the BIOS setup, the DELL support made me change some things there and I had to reinstall F25. They also changed my mother card 2 times and I had to reinstall F25 each time. It seems that there is something in the BIOS that says "if not windows, crash the master boot record".
