A client is requesting a web interface where he can accept or reject forms that
are submitted to hime via email. I would have normally just used Gmail, but I
don't need half of that functionality.

or use ones own server from gmail with sasl auth :=)
or ask gmail to use roundcube ?
I stated my reasons, and using my own server's IMAP account doesn't work either.

For TLS you should probably change port to
Wouldn't that not use the SSL port though? I feel like Gmail's IMAP is only

so is pear packages outdated ?
is php supporting ok ?
Here's what the first step looks like when setting this up:
Checking PHP version
Version: OK(PHP 5.2.17 detected)
Checking PHP extensions
The following modules/extensions are required to run Roundcube:
PCRE: OK
DOM: OK
Session: OK
XML: OK
JSON: OK
The next couple of extensions are

TLS olso works on ssl port, but imap server have to being enabled with

it does not help debug roundcube if its not a roundcube problem, if you
have your own server this server also creates logs

The other directories don't have any error logs, at least none of them have
anything written to them recently.
The most recent log in the root lists this:
[05-May-2012 16:05:38] PHP Warning: imap_open() [a
href='function.imap-open'function.imap-open/a]: Couldn't open stream
Do you still want me to try what you said below? Also, port 993 is open:
s_client -connect imap.gmail.com:993
CONNECTED(0003)
...
I just tested it with my gmail account and latest Roundcube 0.7 svn. Works
fine.
Settings:
$rcmail_config['default_host'] = 'ssl://imap.gmail.com';
It is enabled. My Mac and iPhone and any other device and connect to it without
any problems and retrieve and send mail. Just not the server. So the port is
open, it's enabled in gmail, could it be a config problem that I overlooked?
