Maven keeps trying to download - even after a success.

Maven2 has sucessfully downloaded the artifact 'servlet-4.1.36.jar' required by my POM. Yet, every time I run 'mvn install, maven2 tries to download it again. See console output below. Why is that? It doesn't seem to be happening with the other dependencies. Thanks -- Mark [INFO]

build WAR without a web.xml

I need to be able to build WAR that does not include a web.xml. The use case for this is certain forms of Java EE 5 Web Services deployment. However, Maven2 gives me this error when I try: Error assembling WAR: Deployment descriptor:

[m2] running both Maven 1.0.2 and Maven 2.0.4

It seems that it is impossible to use both Maven 1 and Maven 2 concurrently since both use the MAVEN_HOME environment variable. Is that correct? Are there any workarounds? I am building multiple projects - some use Maven 2 and some use Maven 1.

[M2] Executing a single lifecycle phase

When I do mvn integration-test - all the previous lifecycles phases (e.g., validate, compile, test, etc.) are executed first. Is there a workaround that I can use to only run the integration-test lifecycle phase - without all the precursor phases getting invoked? Thanks, Mark
