To answer my own question I uninstalled/reinstalled the printer, and
chose a different driver, and now printing is normal.

Look at what Olaf eluded to.
It had to do with the Java installer and switch paramenters to install
siliently and
without user intervention. Thus it isn't a problem with the runtime, its
only a problem
installing JRE.
