Re: [ovirt-users] Hosted engine Single Sign-On to VM with freeIPA not working

2016-03-19 Thread Ondra Machacek

Hi Paul,

ok, thanks for info, then there is an issue in pam configuration, most
probably.
There is open issue for it on rhel7, please try read this comment[1] if
it helps to you.

Hi Ondra,

Thanks for your reply, unfortunately this does not resolve the issue.
I had already seen this bug and tried it without the -authz appendix(maybe
should have mentioned that).
I also (may be wrongfully) assumed that the
"ovirt-engine-extension-aaa-ldap-setup" would not have this issue/bug.

Anyways, I changed it (again) to the DOMAIN without '-authz' by changing:
/etc/ovirt-engine/extensions.d/DOMAIN-authz.properties =>
ovirt.engine.extension.name =  DOMAIN
/etc/ovirt-engine/extensions.d/DOMAIN-authn.properties =>
ovirt.engine.aaa.authn.authz.plugin = DOMAIN
Systemctl restart ovirt-engine

By the way: login with IPA users doesn't work anymore, you have to log in
with admin internal account and remove your IPA users and add them back to
make them work again.

But still get the error:
pam_sss(gdm-ovirtcred:auth): received for user test6: 17 (Failure setting
user credentials)

Any suggestions?

Hi,

your authz name should match kerberos name.
So please change your authz name from 'DOMAIN-authz' to 'DOMAIN'

Please see this bz[1] for more detail.

Hi,

I am having an issue with getting SSO to work when a standard
user(UserRole) logs in to the UserPortal.

The user has permission to use only this VM, so after login the
console is automatically opened for that VM.

Problem is that it doesn't login on the VM system with the provided
credentials. Manual login at the console works without any issues.

HBAC-rule check on IPA shows access is granted. Client has SELINUX in
permissive mode and a disabled firewalld.

On the client side I do see some PAM related errors in the logs (see
details below). Extensive Google search on error 17 "Failure setting
user credentials" didn't show helpful information :-(

AFAIK this is did a pretty standard set-up, all working with RH-family
products. I would expect others to encounter this issue as well.

If someone knows any solution or has some directions to fix this it
would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

Re: [ovirt-users] centos 7.1 and up & ixgbe

2016-03-19 Thread Piotr Kliczewski
Johan,

It there is temporary networking issue and you still want engine not to
fence the host you can
increase heartbeat interval in the engine configuration. It would tell
engine to wait longer
before assuming that the host is not responding.

Please provide the logs so we can understand why there is communication
issue in the first
place.

Thanks,
Piotr

Engine by itself should work fine with NM.

I'm installing my 5th 3.6.3 oVirt DC this month, and I'm still witnessing
that when keeping NM_CONTROLLED=yes in my
/etc/sysconfig/network-script/ifcfg-blahblahblah files, the network setup
doesn't resist a reboot (we're using bonding + vlan, and it all goes well
with NO networkmanager).

Do you refer to the Host/s (which run the hypervisor with the VM/s) or
the Engine?

I'm witnessing these issues on the hosts.

I also tried to use nmtui, but no method made it until I switched back
to using vim and disable nm in the ifcfg-* files.
Then, oVirt made a good work understanding, managing, and syncing these
files (bond + vlan).

No big issue then, but I'd like to be sure. I'm about to add a cf-engine
promise to disable NetworkManager on the hosts.

Do you refer to the Host/s (which run the hypervisor with the VM/s) or
the Engine?

If you refer to the Engine, if setting there bonding and vlans
manually (using ifcfg files?), it may collide with NM in certain
cases, but that is a general issue, not related to Engine
specifically.
You could define the bonds and vlans using NM (nmcli).

Re: [ovirt-users] How do I start an VM in a different 3.6 cluster

2016-03-19 Thread Bond, Darryl
I re-ran the Reports server engine-setup again and the second cluster appeared
after that in the reports interface.

The second cluster has 4 hosts and about 30 VMs running fine. It is a different
CPU architecture than the Default cluster (Sandy Bridge vs Nehalam) though.

Just to elaborate: If a VM is created in either cluster, the only option in the
cluster pulldown is the cluster it was created in.

So there is no option on which cluster to run a VM in. It can only be migrated
to another cluster while it is running.

The reports will only show clusters with hosts\vms. Depends on what the report

All Cluster pull down menus in the Reports only show the first cluster.

Sounds logical, that is what I thought.
Except my VM's only have one cluster to choose from, even though there are 2
clusters with running machines in both.
I have no idea how to tell if a cluster is 'UP' they certainly work fine in
themselves.

If you click edit on the VM, the top right will have a drop down, where you
can select the cluster to run the VM in. The target cluster must be UP for
this to be an option in the drop down. Example here [1]

Re: [ovirt-users] MOM crashes ovirt-guest-agent

2016-03-19 Thread Andreas Trawöger
Hi Martin,

Whats extremely prone to errors is the way the guest agent checks the active
user in GuestAgentLinux2.py line 325:

users = os.popen('/usr/bin/users').read().split()

This creates a new subprocess every time it is executed and if that doesn't
work for whatever reason the ovirt guest agent crashes instantly.

But I probably should make that suggestions on the devel list.

Hi,

it is not really a bug. You should give the VM more memory if you
expect that it will need it that fast. The ballooning mechanism has
its disadvantages and this is one of those. We do not react fast
enough when such a fast allocation happens.

There is really not much we can do from the mom / guest agent side. We
could slowly increase the available memory when the guest agent dies
(pretty easy to implement) and we might inform the system that a guest
agent is an important process (if that is even possible) so OOM killer
will avoid it. But that would not help with Cannot allocate memory
error as even the OOM killer takes time before it reacts.

Using low guaranteed memory values with ballooning for critical VMs is
probably not the best idea.

Re: [ovirt-users] Hosted engine Single Sign-On to VM with freeIPA not working

2016-03-19 Thread Paul

/etc/ovirt-engine/extensions.d/DOMAIN-authz.properties =>
ovirt.engine.extension.name =  DOMAIN
/etc/ovirt-engine/extensions.d/DOMAIN-authn.properties =>
ovirt.engine.aaa.authn.authz.plugin = DOMAIN

Engine tells me this message:

Is anyone else experiencing these issues with ixgbe drivers? I'm running on

Re: [ovirt-users] MOM crashes ovirt-guest-agent

2016-03-19 Thread Martin Sivak
Hi,

it is not really a bug.

Regards

Do you mean how to import existing vm disk into ovirt?

You can use v2v (in ovirt-3.6) to import vms directly from vmware, or
ova created by vmware.

If you need to import qcow or raw disk, it is not automated yet, we
are working on it for 4.0.

Maybe Shahar can add more info what available today and what are the workarounds
to import disks in 3.6.

In 4.0 you will be able to upload disks directly using http,
see http://www.ovirt.org/develop/release-management/features/image-upload/

We will need engine and vdsm logs to understand this issue.

Can you file a bug and attach ful logs?

during backup VM hanged with question mark in ovirt and status 8
in DB, snapshot file ( for backup )is locked.
How to clean snapshot locking a wake up this VM from "unknow"

Do you try to remove it when the vm is running?

If you tried to remove a snapshot while the vm is running you did
initiate live merge, and this bug may effect you.

Adding Greg for adding more info about this.

I've ran the disk info gathering tool and this outputs (for the
 affected
 VM):

 VM lena
  Disk b2390535-744f-4c02-bdc8-5a897226554b

The id of the volume is the ID of the snapshot that is marked
 "illegal".
So the "bad" image would be the dc39 one, which according to the UI
 is
in use by the "Active VM" snapshot. Can this make sense?

Subject: [ovirt-users] Unable to move disk on (non-)stateless machine

Hi,

We're running oVirt 3.6.3.4-1. We have 2 storage domains of the same
kind (both iSCSI). We're moving some of the disks from one to other,
preferably without shutting down the machine. When moving a disk with
the VM started, the following error is thrown:

Error while executing action: Cannot move Virtual Machine Disk.
The

VM is running as Stateless. Please try again when VM is not running as
Stateless.

This machine is inside a VM pool based on a template that is not
stateless, nor is the VM pool, nor the VM itself.

In [1]: template = api.templates.get(name='templatename')
In [2]: template.get_stateless()
Out[2]: False

In [3]: vm = api.vms.get(name='vmname')
In [4]: vm.get_stateless()
Out[4]: False

Additionally, in the General tab of the VM Pool:

 Is Stateless:false

If nothing is stateless, why is the error shown?

The VMs in a pool are always stateless.
There is an RFE [1] making the pools stateful, but not yet implemented.

But the reporting is not correct, we should not report they are
stateless if they are not.
Can you please open a bug for this?

Sure. Done: https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1318955

Regards.

Thank you!

[ovirt-users] NFS firewall rule

2016-03-19 Thread Bill James
How do I make it that when ever I add or reinstall a hardware node that
oVirt creates a rule for NFS, port 2049?

I have to either add it manually after ovirt removes it, or just tell
ovirt not to touch firewall rules.

Our ISO domain is not hosted by the ovirt-engine, fyi.

[ovirt-users] Windows 2012 R2 VM on OVIRT

2016-03-19 Thread Bill Michelon
Hi, I have set up a Windows 2012 R2 vm in OVIRT. I have tried using e1000 and
virtio drivers for network connection. I am able to establish a connection,
however, cannot access internet. Despite the fact the connection shows
Internet, received and sent bytes seem very low.

Has anyone seen this issue and can help?

Thank you.

Re: [ovirt-users] How do I start an VM in a different 3.6 cluster

2016-03-19 Thread Bond, Darryl
I actually hadn't gone back to the oVirt manager after running engine-setup on
the Reports server, just checked that it was available in Reports.

I just looked back in the Engine management GUI and both clusters are now an
option. Something about running engine-setup on the reports server fixed it???

Now I can choose which cluster to run in :)

The reports will only show clusters with hosts\vms. Depends on what the report

Re: [ovirt-users] Vms owner

2016-03-19 Thread Oved Ourfali
Hi Budur,

If you look at
/ovirt-engine/api/roles

You'll see a list of roles.
The role which is equivalent to the "VM owner" is UserVmManager, and you
can see that its ID is "def6----def6".

Then, if you go to /ovirt-engine/api/users/user-id/permissions you'll get
all the permissions granted to this user, and there you can look for this
permission.
Whenever it exists, with combination of a VM, it will mean that this user
is the UserVmManager of this VM.
It doesn't mean he created it, but that he was granted this permission.

Hope that is what you were looking for.

Regards,
Oved

I set up the Reports engine before adding the second cluster. The reports

or failed. This is a workaround for buggy operations leaving disks in
locked state, not
a normal way to use the system.

We first must understand what is the flow that caused the snapshot to
be locked, and
why it remain locked.

Please describe in detail the operations in the engine side, and
provide engine and vdsm
logs showing this timeframe.

What do you mean by "backup"? Can you describe how do you backup the vm?

Re: [ovirt-users] Hosted engine Single Sign-On to VM with freeIPA not working

2016-03-19 Thread Ondra Machacek

Hi,

your authz name should match kerberos name.
So please change your authz name from 'DOMAIN-authz' to 'DOMAIN'

Please see this bz[1] for more detail.

Hi,

I am having an issue with getting SSO to work when a standard
user(UserRole) logs in to the UserPortal.

The user has permission to use only this VM, so after login the console
is automatically opened for that VM.

2016-03-19 Thread Jeff Spahr
I had the same issue, and I also have a support case open. They referenced
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1288237 which is private. I
didn't have any success getting that bugzilla changed to public. We
couldn't keep waiting for the issue to be fixed so we replaced the NICs
with Broadcom/Qlogic that we knew had no issues in other hosts.

[ovirt-users] hosted engine vm nic

2016-03-19 Thread qinglong.d...@horebdata.cn
Hi:
In 3.5, I can add a nic for the hosted engine vm by following these
steps:

- Created the network in the UI
- hosted-engine --set-maintenance --mode=global
- edited /etc/ovirt-hosted-engine/vm.conf; duplicated the existing network
line, changing the macAddr, network, deviceId, and slot (changed on all
hosted-engine nodes)
- hosted-engine --vm-shutdown
- hosted-engine --vm-start
- hosted-engine --set-maintenance --mode=none

But in 3.6 I cannot find the conf file. How Can I add a nic for hosted
engine vm?

UserTemplateBasedVm | Large (VM Template) | Everyone

VnicProfileUser | LAN1 (Vnic Profile) | Everyone
VnicProfileUser | LAN2 (Vnic Profile) | Everyone
UserRole | instance (VM Pool) |

This user can see the Extended tab when logged in to the User

tab. Which permission(s) is allowing the user to see the tab?

Thanks

I tried based on this url: (based on

It seems to work ok, but the ovirt gui says the network is out of sync.
So I can't add any more networks to that interface. :-(

If I try detaching the "custom" network I get an error:
So obviously I'm missing something.

On the hosts we do not support NM at the moment. When you add a host
through Engine, it is supposed to disable NM on the host.
The problem with NM on the host is that it can take ownership of
devices from VDSM in specific scenarios.

There are plans to address this issue and allow NM to run in parallel,
but that is for the long run.

There should not be such a limitation on the Engine side.

Thanks,
Edy.

It's just that you installed all the engine rpms also on the additional
host where you are not going to deploy the engine.
Please run
 yum remove ovirt-engine-setup-plugin-ovirt-engine
before trying again; it's enough to avoid hitting it and it's also a good
idea since you don't need al the engine on the additional websocket proxy
host.

I opened a bug to properly fix it:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1318986

Thanks for the report.

[ovirt-users] Hosted engine Single Sign-On to VM with freeIPA not working

2016-03-19 Thread Paul
Hi,

I am having an issue with getting SSO to work when a standard user(UserRole)
logs in to the UserPortal.

The user has permission to use only this VM, so after login the console is
automatically opened for that VM.

Problem is that it doesn't login on the VM system with the provided
credentials. Manual login at the console works without any issues.

HBAC-rule check on IPA shows access is granted. Client has SELINUX in
permissive mode and a disabled firewalld.

On the client side I do see some PAM related errors in the logs (see details
below). Extensive Google search on error 17 "Failure setting user
credentials" didn't show helpful information :-(

AFAIK this is did a pretty standard set-up, all working with RH-family
products. I would expect others to encounter this issue as well.

If someone knows any solution or has some directions to fix this it would be
greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Paul

[ovirt-users] MOM crashes ovirt-guest-agent

2016-03-19 Thread Andreas Trawöger
Hi,

I'm trying to track down why my Foreman Centos7 VM continuously crashes with
out of Memory errors on my ovirt-3.6 hosts and what seems to happen is the
following:

1. The Foreman VM only uses 1GB at the beginning and MOM over time reduces the
memory size from 8GB Ram to the defined minimum of 2GB

mom.log:
2016-03-18 12:25:42,669 - mom.Controllers.Balloon - INFO - Ballooning
guest:qvie-foreman from 2210584 to 2100054

2. When the VM needs RAM very quickly like if you do an 'cp /dev/zero
/run/zero' the ovirt guest agent crashes with an out of memory error.

ovirt-guest-agent.log:

Traceback (most recent call last):
File "/usr/share/ovirt-guest-agent/OVirtAgentLogic.py", line 239, in doWork
self.sendUserInfo()
  File "/usr/share/ovirt-guest-agent/OVirtAgentLogic.py", line 355, in
sendUserInfo
cur_user = self.dr.getActiveUser()
  File "/usr/share/ovirt-guest-agent/GuestAgentLinux2.py", line 325, in
getActiveUser
users = os.popen('/usr/bin/users').read().split()
OSError: [Errno 12] Cannot allocate memory

3. Resulting in an MOM warning that it can't get any memory stats from the VM.
Leaving the memory size at its minimum size:.

mom.log:

mom.Collectors.GuestMemory - WARNING - getVmMemoryStats() error: The
ovirt-guest-agent is not active

Any chances to prevent that from happening? Or is this a bug in MOM /
ovirt-guest-agent that should be fixed?

Greetings

Andreas

[ovirt-users] Trouble configuring ISO domain on oVirt 3.5

2016-03-19 Thread Hal Martin
Hello everyone,

Please excuse me if this question has been asked before, I've searched
the mailing list archives and can't find someone having the same
problem as I am.

I have a new oVirt installation that I'm trying to configure, and I
cannot get the ISO domain I configured during engine-setup to show in
the UI at all.

Installation layout:
# Engine
CentOS 7 - oVirt Engine 3.5 (VM on different, non-oVirt cluster)
# Nodes
de-fra-p-hv05 - oVirt Node 3.5
de-fra-p-hv06 - oVirt Node 3.5

I installed and configured the engine, but the node that runs the
engine is a VM, and will not be running VMs itself. I intend to use it
only as a management node (in the VMWare world this would be analogous
to the vCenter server). I don't want to run hosted engine because that
requires me to install Fedora/CentOS on the blades. I would much
rather have the engine live on a different cluster and just run oVirt
node on the blades.

I am able to install the nodes successfully, and configure them from
within the engine UI.

I am using an iSCSI SAN for VM storage. As per the Quick Setup guide,
I have configured my iSCSI network on the nodes and created an iSCSI
storage domain for VMs.

Where I am utterly stuck is the creation of the ISO domain:
http://www.ovirt.org/documentation/quickstart/quickstart-guide/#Attach_an_ISO_domain

Since the server running oVirt engine is not participating in the
cluster, it doesn't appear in my data center. This might be my
problem, but I'm not sure.

Here's a summary of the data center I have configured thus far:
System
|- Data Centers
 |- Default
  |- Storage
   |- sanQA
  |- Networks
   |- ovirtmgmt
   |- hpmsa
   |- vmnet128
  |- Clusters
   |- QA
|- Hosts
 |- de-fra-p-hv05
 |- de-fra-p-hv06

I have edited the ACL on the server running oVirt engine to allow rw
access on /var/lib/exports/iso to nodes de-fra-p-hv05 and
de-fra-p-hv06.
$ cat /etc/exports.d/ovirt-engine-iso-domain.exports
/var/lib/exports/iso de-fra-p-ove01.domain.xyz(rw)
/var/lib/exports/iso 172.20.102.215(rw)
/var/lib/exports/iso 172.20.102.216(rw)

When I try to import an ISO domain in the Data Center -> Storage tab,
I get the following error:
"Error while executing action: Cannot add Storage Connection. Storage
connection already exists."
Attached is the engine log from attempting to import the ISO domain.

I don't have any ISO domain visible in the Storage tab of my data
center. Since I cannot see the ISO domain in the UI, I cannot create
new virtual machines on my cluster.

Please help me understand what I've done wrong.

I've also attached a screenshot of the management interface. As you
can see, I've configured an iSCSI domain. I see no button in the UI to
"Attach ISO"

Re: [ovirt-users] Diagnosing Migration Error

2016-03-19 Thread Martin Sivak
Hi Charles,

you can probably get much more detailed explanation from the vdsm and
libvirt logs from the two hosts. Take a look at
/var/log/vdsm/vdsm.log.

[ovirt-users] Storage Diversity Options oVirt 3.6

2016-03-19 Thread Clint Boggio
Greetings all, and Happy Friday;

I'm running oVirt 3.6 management engine that is currently overseeing 4
compute nodes, attached to iSCSI storage over Infiniband. The compute
nodes have 8 hot-swap hard drive slots, with each only having 2 slots
occupied in a hardware RAID array level one for the hypervisor to live
on.

Would it be possible for me to set up each compute node with a second
array in the remaining 6 hot-swap slots, and utilize that new space for
a nice fault tolerant GlusterFS storage array ?

1. Would the system allow me to add the Gluster storage to the existing
datacenter/cluster that is currently using iSCSI ?

2. Would I be able to configure all aspects of the Gluster
environment(except the hardware RAID array)through the GUI ?

3. What hardware RAID level would be optimal for this configuration ?
(RHEV documentation says RAID 6 is "Mandatory")

4. Will the system support live migration between storage domains ?

I'm reading through the gluster documentation now to get a better
understanding of it's inner workings. Is there a good source for Gluster
on oVirt that i can reference as well ?

That's because you need to fake it back as well, otherwise Engine
complains that what it requested is not what exists.
So you need another two hooks: after_get_caps and after_get_stats
Please look at these two:
https://github.com/oVirt/vdsm/blob/master/vdsm_hooks/ovs/ovs_after_get_caps.py
https://github.com/oVirt/vdsm/blob/master/vdsm_hooks/ovs/ovs_after_get_stats.py

To see what you need to change, issue the two reports on your host:
# vdsClient -s 0 getVdsCaps
# vdsClient -s 0 getVdsStats

Please send us vdsm logs: vdsm.log and supervdsm.log

[ovirt-users] centos 7.1 and up & ixgbe

2016-03-19 Thread Johan Kooijman
Hi all,

Since we upgraded to the latest ovirt node running 7.2, we're seeing that
nodes become unavailable after a while. It's running fine, with a couple of
VM's on it, untill it becomes non responsive. At that moment it doesn't
even respond to ICMP. It'll come back by itself after a while, but oVirt
fences the machine before that time and restarts VM's elsewhere.

Engine tells me this message:

VDSM host09 command failed: Message timeout which can be caused by
communication issues

Is anyone else experiencing these issues with ixgbe drivers? I'm running on
Intel X540-AT2 cards.

This user can see the Extended tab when logged in to the User panel.
However AFAIK only PowerUserRole grants access to that tab. Which
permission(s) is allowing the user to see the tab?

Re: [ovirt-users] User with extended tab in User Panel?

2016-03-19 Thread James Michels
Sorry, there was an another one: UserProfileEditor on (System) which
someone mistakenly granted probably, but removing it makes no difference,
user still sees the Expanded tab. There are no groups in this system. In
short, these permissions are inherited from Everyone:

UserTemplateBasedVm
CpuProfileOperator
VnicProfileUser

And these are granted explicitly on objects:

UserRole (on a VM Pool)
UserRole (on a VM of the VM Pool)

Re: [ovirt-users] centos 7.1 and up & ixgbe

Hi,

Is this on CentOS/RHEL 7.2?

Log in as root as see if you can see any messages from ixgbe about "tx queue
hung" in dmesg. I
currently have an open support case for RHEL7.2 and the ixgbe driver, where
there is a driver
issue causing the network adapter to reset continuously when there are network
traffic.

This looks like a bug in the current code (looking in 4.0 development code).

1. We try to connect to the remote host:
2. Connectioin fails with DNS resolving error
3. self._destServer is not initialized becuase of 2
4. Code in _recover fail when access self._destServer

We should fix the initialization to avoid this error, but it will fix
your issue, which is
DNS error.

Maybe the address of the destination vm is wrong, or you have DNS issues in your
environment?

Similar to what I wrote to Marcelo above in the thread, I'd
recommend
running the "VM disk info gathering tool" attached to [1].
It's the
best way to ensure the merge was completed and determine which
image

is
the "bad" one that is no longer in use by any volume chains.

I've ran the disk info gathering tool and this outputs (for the
affected
VM):

VM lena
 Disk b2390535-744f-4c02-bdc8-5a897226554b
(sd:a7ba2db3-517c-408a-8b27-ea45989d6416)
 Volumes:
 24d78600-22f4-44f7-987b-fbd866736249

The id of the volume is the ID of the snapshot that is marked
"illegal".
So the "bad" image would be the dc39 one, which according to the
UI is

in use by the "Active VM" snapshot. Can this make sense?

It looks accurate. Live merges are "backwards" merges, so the merge
would have pushed data from the volume associated with "Active VM"
into the volume associated with the snapshot you're trying to
remove.

Upon completion, we "pivot" so that the VM uses that older
volume, and

we update the engine database to reflect this (basically we
re-associate that older volume with, in your case, "Active VM").

In your case, it seems the pivot operation was done, but the
database
wasn't updated to reflect it. Given snapshot/image associations
e.g.:

  VM Name Snapshot Name Volume
  --- - --
  My-VMActive VM 123-abc
  My-VMMy-Snapshot789-def

My-VM in your case is actually running on volume 789-def. If you
run

the db fixup script and supply ("My-VM", "My-Snapshot", "123-abc")
(note the volume is the newer, "bad" one), then it will switch the
volume association for you and remove the invalid entries.

Of course, I'd shut down the VM, and back up the db beforehand.

I've executed the sql script and it seems to have worked. Thanks!

"Active VM" should now be unused; it previously (pre-merge) was the
data written since the snapshot was taken. Normally the larger
actual

size might be from qcow format overhead. If your listing above is
complete (ie one volume for the vm), then I'm not sure why the base
volume would have a larger actual size than virtual size.

Adam, Nir--any thoughts on this?

There is a bug which has caused inflation of the snapshot volumes
when

performing a live merge. We are submitting fixes for 3.5, 3.6, and
master right at this moment.

Which bug number is assigned to this bug? Will upgrading to a release
with a fix reduce the disk usage again?

See https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1301709 for the bug.
It's about a clone disk failur

Hi Wee,
from the log it seams that the network configuration worked as expected.
Your issue was different: 'Connection to storage server failed' simply
means that your host lost its connection with the storage server in the
middle of the deployment.

>From the logs I saw that you tried to deploy on GlusterFS using the host
where you are deploying hosted-engine host also for gluster: this setup is
called hyper-converged but it's currently not supported, please wait for
the next major release to deploy in this scenario.

In the mean time you can deploy hosted-engine pointing it to a gluster
volume on other external hosts or with another storage type.

[ovirt-users] Diagnosing Migration Error

2016-03-19 Thread Charles Tassell

Hello,

I'm trying to test migrating a VM from one host to another and it's
failing, but with no apparent error message. I took a look at the
server logs (which I've copied below) but there doesn't seem to be
anything in here that would help track down the problem. Should I be
looking somewhere besides engine.log on the hosted engine? This is the
latest version of oVirt (3.6.3.4-1.el7.centos) that I just upgraded this
morning. The VM has an ISO attached over NFS storage and the disk image
is on fiber channel.
