My issue was that my template was not in the destination data Domain.
But I now have bigger issues.

Do you have root logins disabled in SSH? If I remember right, oVirt will
use SSH keys once configured so you need "PermitRootLogin without-password"
at a minimum.
The engine log and your auth/secure log on the host should probably give
you some idea of what happened.

is there a special upgrade procedure to get from 3.6 to 4.0 of oVirt?
Or it is just a normal upgrade procedure?
I'm currently running oVirt 3.6.7 on CentOS 7.

Did you define software raid in the storage stage of the installation?
Can you attach logs and maybe a short vid of what you are trying to do?

In 4.0 you can access oVirt engine only with the same FQDN that was
specified during engine-setup. If you have used different FQDN, you may
change it using ovirt-engine-rename tool.

today I will migrate my backup tool [1] from oVirt version 3 to 4.
Is there anywhere a documentation to the new SDK? I downloaded the
source and read in the meantime through the code. It seems it will be a
lot of work :-(

in my setup I have two servers on CentOS7. One of these servers is also
running the engine.
From your email I understood that in such case there is not special
procedure for me right?
