[ovirt-users] storage domain operation python api sample codes needed

2016-08-02 Thread Huan He (huhe)
Hi,

I can't figure out how to do the following, a sample code will be helpful.

Put a storage domain in maintenance mode
Detach the storage domain
Remove the storage domain

By the way, do you have an API doc or wiki?

Thanks,
Huab

Re: [ovirt-users] management interface

2016-08-02 Thread Fernando Fuentes
I answer my own question.
"I think" lol

I am going to create a new ovirtmgmt logical network with a vlan tag and
than move my hosts in to it for management. This interface is not part
of the vm network.

The rest of the logical networks with vlans will be tagged and part of
the vm network.
I think that logic is right.
Thoughts?

Regards,

Subject: [ovirt-users] oVirt 4 with custom SSL-certificate and SPICE HTML5
browser client -> WebSocket error: Can't connect to websocket on URL:
wss://ovirt.engine.fqdn:6100/

Hello oVirt guru`s !

I have successfully replaced the oVirt 4 site SSL-certificate according to the
instructions from "Replacing oVirt SSL Certificate"
section in "oVirt Administration Guide"
http://www.ovirt.org/documentation/admin-guide/administration-guide/

3 files have been replaced:

/etc/pki/ovirt-engine/certs/apache.cer
/etc/pki/ovirt-engine/keys/apache.key.nopass
/etc/pki/ovirt-engine/apache-ca.pem

Now the oVirt site using my certificate and everything works fine, but when I
try to use SPICE HTML5 browser client in Firefox or Chrome I see a gray screen
and message under the button "Toggle messages output":

WebSocket error: Can't connect to websocket on URL:
wss://ovirt.engine.fqdn:6100/eyJ...0=[object Event]

Before replacing certificates SPICE HTML5 browser client works.
Native SPICE client works fine.

Tell me what to do with SPICE HTML5 browser client?

Re: [ovirt-users] ovirt 3.6.6 and gluster 3.7.13

2016-08-02 Thread David Gossage
So far gluster 3.7.14 seems to have resolved issues at least on my test
box. dd commands that failed previously now work with sharding on zfs
backend,

Where before I couldn't even mount a new storage domain it now mounted and
I have a test vm being created.

Still have to let VM run for a few days and make sure no locking freezing
occurs but looks hopeful so far.

Re: [ovirt-users] [ovirt-devel] How to add ovs-based VM in version 4.0.2? Thank you

2016-08-02 Thread Petr Horacek
If the host was a part of legacy cluster you must do manual cleanup of
all networks. Currently VDSM cannot change Linux bridges into OVS ones
(this will be implemented soon). Make sure that you are adding clean
hosts (with NIC interface/s only) to OVS cluster.

Petr

Re: [ovirt-users] Management Engine Down

2016-08-02 Thread Clint Boggio
Thank you both for your help in this matter.

I did alleviate 95% of the problem by removing the old ldap authentication
method, and successfully upgrading the engine to 4.0. Upon completion the
engine did start and all is well.

AD authentication is currently broken due to my own ignorance as to which
option to choose when running the new tool. This is not a huge problem and I
will work through it. I may need some hand holding regarding the aaa setup, but
I'll ask after I've read the documentation and failed to complete the task.

Thank you again for your willingness to help.

According to this ^ error, it looks like your setup wasn't migrated
properly. It can't find method
'getstring', which is not used anymore in 4.0, as we use jinja instead
of cheetach now,
so also assure you have correctly migrated

Re: [ovirt-users] [ovirt-devel] How to add ovs-based VM in version 4.0.2? Thank you

2016-08-02 Thread Michael Burman
Hi ,

Did you synced network/s after you moved the host to the ovs type cluster?
It seems like you didn't..)
Go to 'Hosts' main tab' and choose the host, go to 'Network Interfaces' sub
tab and press the 'Sync All Networks' , now the networks should be synced
to host as ovs switch type.
Run the vm and check the xml.
It should look something like this:

thanks
