[ovirt-users] Re: 2021 first ovirt network question

2021-01-12 Thread ozmen62
ı've checked my network usage and it's ok. No problem.
But, there is another problem which we've already knew. Our storage I/O is bad.
It might be the some part of the problem.

I know this is getting out of the main subject.
But, one thing i want to learn if some of you can help help
in os.conf files there ar 2 values

os.windows_10x64.devices.display.vramMultiplier.value
os.windows_10x64.devices.display.vgamemMultiplier.value

i've created override con file to change these, restart engine and install new
w10x64
But, does not effect vram value. is's still 4GB shared memory
How can i increase the vgamemory to test if makes better performance or not?
Thanks

[ovirt-users] Re: VM console does not work with new cluster.

2021-01-12 Thread tommy
Both IP and DNS name cannot be connected. Both using VNC, the windows program
is remote viewer.

I using netstat to trace, I found that at the begin the remote viewer estab a
tcp connection to VM's host's 5900 port, but soon the connection disconnect.

On the host, the qemu process listen on 5900 port, where to find the qemu's log
for the connection ?

[ovirt-users] cockpit-ovirt-dashboard

2021-01-12 Thread Gary Pedretty
So with the latest updates to Ovirt and CentOS 8 Stream it seems that you
either can not install cockpit-ovirt-dashboard, or if you do, it downgrades
cockpit-bridge and cockpit-system. You then end up not showing up to date on
these hosts on Open Virtualization Manager and can only get back to a fully
updated datacenter by doing a yum update --allowerasing which then removes
cockpit-ovirt-dashboard.

My main concern is now that the command line hosted-engine commands have been
removed, if the hosted engine is not running for some reason you have no
visibility into what is going on since the regular cockpit host interface will
not show the virtualization features. You can't put a host in maintenance or
start the engine manually.

example

[root@ravn-kvm-1 admin]# yum install cockpit-ovirt-dashboard

//snip///

Installed products updated.

Downgraded:
  cockpit-bridge-217-1.el8.x86_64
   cockpit-system-217-1.el8.noarch

Installed:
  cockpit-dashboard-217-1.el8.noarch

ovirt-host-4.4.1-4.el8.x86_64

In order to debug, you will need to compare the files provided when you
press the "console" button from both clusters and identify the problem.

Have you compared the firewalld ports on 2 nodes (old and new cluster)
?

I got confused by the name... I just checked on my cluster and it's
binary.
Just "stat" the file from the mount point in /rhev/data-
center/mnt/glusterSD/:_ mount point and it should get
healed.

[ovirt-users] Re: VM console does not work with new cluster.

2021-01-12 Thread matthew.st...@fujitsu.com
Stop/Edit/Start is the only mechanism available. You cannot change the
cluster value for a VM, until it is stopped.

The VMs have static addresses. The VM is fully function on the new cluster.

It’s just that once the VM has been moved to the new cluster, selecting console
results in the same behavior, but that virt-viewer starts and stops within a
second.

Sounds like it, but VMs are running on the same network, with the same IP

They are binary files and I can't seem to find a timestamp. The file consists
of 2000 lines, where would I find this timestamp and what does it look like? Or
do you mean the linux mtime?

Upon further research I noticed that apparently it's not a split-brain:

Brick storage1:/data/glusterfs/nvme/brick1/brick
Status: Connected
Total Number of entries: 0
Number of entries in heal pending: 0
Number of entries in split-brain: 0
Number of entries possibly healing: 0

Brick storage2:/data/glusterfs/nvme/brick1/brick
Status: Connected
Total Number of entries: 3
Number of entries in heal pending: 3
Number of entries in split-brain: 0
Number of entries possibly healing: 0

Brick storage3:/data/glusterfs/nvme/brick1/brick
Status: Connected
Total Number of entries: 3
Number of entries in heal pending: 3
Number of entries in split-brain: 0
Number of entries possibly healing: 0

Should I run the split-brain latest-mtime or rsync command anyway once I know
the most recent timestamp? Are there any other way to solve entries that are
stuck in pending?

It seems that you have a all-in-one setup, running engine and vdsm on
the same host.
This setup is not supported since ovirt-4.0 (or earlier), but it used
to work on 4.3.

This is unlikely to work since engine configuration will not work for
vdsm. If ovirt-imageio
will run with engine configuration, it will not work with vdsm, and it
it run with vdsm configuration
it will not work with engine.

The way to fix this is to use vdsm configuration for ovirt-imageio,
and disable the proxy in
engine side, so engine UI works directly with the local imageio daemon.

engine-config -s "ImageTransferProxyEnabled=false"
systemctl restart ovirt-engine
