[ovirt-users] R: R: R: R: R: vm_network not sync

2019-03-22 Thread Fabio Zaltron
If i set default route on vm_network or ovirtmgmt the VM that i create, can to
browse Internet without problem... in each case, my dhcp server assign
correctly the ip, gw and dns to Virtual Machine...

This vdsm.log is helpful, thanks.
The relation of the default gateway to the networks is ambiguous, because
ovirtmgmt and vm_network are in the same IP network.

Are you aware that vm_network might not require an IP address for vm_network?

[ovirt-users] R: R: R: R: R: R: R: vm_network not sync

2019-03-22 Thread Fabio Zaltron
No, its not so...vm_network have ip from DHCP, so i cannot to remove ip...
If i set ovirtmgmt as default route, the vm_network came still out of sync...
as the first time...

After you removed the IP address from vm_network on the host and assign the
"Default Route" role back to ovirtmgmt, the networks should be in sync.

Thanks for raising this.
I created https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1691933 to track this.

Do you uninstalled vdsm-hook-openstacknet?

[ovirt-users] R: R: vm_network not sync

2019-03-22 Thread Fabio Zaltron
Hi Dominik, i dont want that vm_network is used for default route... My
wm_network is in dhcp, but if a set default route on vm_network,

[cid:image001.png@01D4E091.50188150]

the ovirtmgmt came out of sync...

[cid:image002.png@01D4E091.50188150]

And so i dont resolve nothing… 

The problem is that vm_network is used for default route, probably by DHCP, but
oVirt expects ovirtgmgt to be used for the default route.

If you want vm_network to be used for default route, please move the role
"Default Route" to the network vm_network in Compute > Clusters > xxx > Logical
Network > Manage Networks Please find the complete doc in
https://ovirt.org/documentation/admin-guide/chap-Logical_Networks.html#configuring-a-non-management-logical-network-as-the-default-route

Did this solve your problem?

Why not? Just set "Boot Protocol" to "None" in web ui "Setup Host Network" and
ensure that the assigned local network ovirtmgmt has the IP address of the
Hostname used to add the host to oVirt.

Yes, oVirt provides just layer 2 networking to VMs (only external networks
provides some layer 3 functionality).

So all layer 3 settings in
"Compute > Hosts > xxx > Network Interfaces > Setup Host Networks"
are related to host networking only, and unrelated to VM networking.

Is your initial problem solved now?

I found this:
https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1518703

but in my case the phase is 9, that I don't know how to decode:

 engine=#

image_transfers ;
last_updated|message| bytes_sent |
bytes_total | active | phase

[ovirt-users] Re: Bulk ISO Upload to Data Domain

2019-03-22 Thread Hesham Ahmed
We're using the upload_disk.py from oVirt sdk examples
https://github.com/oVirt/ovirt-engine-sdk/blob/master/sdk/examples/upload_disk.py
chmod +x upload_disk.py
Change the engine url/user/pass on line 108-110 copy ca.pem file from
engine /etc/pki/.../apache-ca.pem to working directory and finally set the
target Storage Domain on line 153 and run ./upload_disk.py

[ovirt-users] Problem putting node into maintenance

2019-03-22 Thread Gianluca Cecchi
Hello,
node (plain CentOS) in 4.3.1.
I have to update to 4.3.2, but when I try to put into maintrnance I see
this message that preents me from doing it...
"
Error while executing action: Cannot switch Host ov200 to Maintenance mode.
Image transfer is in progress for the following (2) disks:

a97c70c1-512f-4b45-818d-9c32150b5aa1,
f1135ee1-ef35-4b00-b81a-a983228323c9

Please wait for the operations to complete and try again.
"
It seems no operation are currently in place.
I had uploaded two iso images to a data (iSCSI based) domain and I noticed
that the transfer completed but inside disks page they remained with
"completed" status and not ok.
I removed them but still the message

How to fix?
Thanks,

Any hint where to look for ?

[ovirt-users] Add Storage Domain to existing Datacenter - side effect

2019-03-22 Thread jeanbaptiste.coupiac
Hello Guys,

We are evaluating oVirt , and this morning I had to face to a side effect (
small impact because oVIrt Datacenter is actually a small one).

1. I added a new Storage domain from iSCSI SAN
2. Not all hosts HBA were authorized to access to this LUN (lack of
configuration on SAN side)
3. One of ovirt Node on four nodes into my datacenter couldn't access
to the LUN => this ovirt node has gone into "Non-responsible" state. => All
VMs running into this host has gone to another

My question is regarding the "operational mode" :

* If I add a Storage Domain which is not already fully configured /
badly configured ("regarding HBA acces granted on SAN side), when I add the
Storage Domain to my DC, each oVirt node into my datacenter will move to
"non-operationnal" state after fews seconds since no one will be able to log
into the new LUN ? (This state change can have some "major effect" (vm
migration between hosts without any logic) ?)

Does I miss something ?

Is there a guard ? Is Cluster Fencing policy option: Skip fencing on cluster
connectivity issues => Threshold: xx% can protect this type of error ?

Regards,

Jean-Baptiste

[ovirt-users] oVirt 4.3.2 - Cannot update Host via UI

2019-03-22 Thread Strahil Nikolov
Hello guys,
I have the following issue after I have successfully updated by engine from
4.3.1 to 4.3.2 - I canont update any host via the UI.
The event log show startup of the update , but there is no process running on
the Host, yum.log is not updated and engine log doesn't show anything
meaningful.
Any hint where to look for ?
Thanks in advance.
Best Regards,Strahil Nikolov

Maybe the steps in
https://www.mail-archive.com/users@ovirt.org/msg53697.html
might help?

Else you can try to remove or rename the ovirt-provider-ovn provider in
oVirt Engine, if it already exsits, and run engine-setup again like this
engine-setup --reconfigure-optional-components
or with answer-file that has 'OVESETUP_OVN/ovirtProviderOvn' enabled:
'OVESETUP_OVN/ovirtProviderOvn=bool:True'

Why not? Just set "Boot Protocol" to "None" in web ui "Setup Host
Network" and ensure that the assigned local network ovirtmgmt has the IP address
of the Hostname used to add the host to oVirt.

The ovirt-sso-client-id and ovirt-sso-client-secret is required, to
allow the ovirt-provider-ovn to connect to Engine's SSO for checking to
user visible username, e.g. admin@internal, and password.

I guess you are already aware of the doc in
https://github.com/oVirt/ovirt-provider-ovn/#section-ovirt

ovirt-provider-ovn does not store neither the user, e.g. admin@internal
password nor the session token, it is just forwarded to Engine's SSO to
check for validity.

If you are interested in the details, the session token is generated
by _get_sso_token in
https://github.com/oVirt/ovirt-provider-ovn/blob/master/provider/auth/plugins/ovirt/sso.py#L79
and validated by another method in
https://github.com/oVirt/ovirt-provider-ovn/blob/master/provider/auth/plugins/ovirt/sso.py#L125
where the ovirt-sso-client-id and ovirt-sso-client-secret are
used as client_id, client_secret.

In your case _get_sso_token is already failing, which does not use the
ovirt-sso-client-secret.

To solve this praticular issue, the provider in oVirt web admin ui
should use the usual oVirt password for admin@internal.

So, I have gone back, and re-installed the whole solution again with the
4.3.2 now, and I again have the same issue

Checking the vdsm logs, I get the issue below in the logs. The host is
either Unassigned or Connecting. I don't have the option to Activate or
put the host into Maintenance mode. I have tried rebooting the node with
no luck

After you removed the IP address from vm_network on the host and assign
the "Default Route" role back to ovirtmgmt, the networks should be in sync.

Yes, oVirt provides just layer 2 networking to VMs (only external
networks provides some layer 3 functionality).
So all layer 3 settings in
"Compute > Hosts > xxx > Network Interfaces > Setup Host Networks"
are related to host networking only, and unrelated to VM networking.

Is your initial problem solved now?

Hi, oVirt Node will persist packages installed on the system across updates.
Official documentation about this is here:
https://ovirt.org/documentation/admin-guide/chap-Hosts.html#ovirt-node
According to documentation at
https://ovirt.org/documentation/upgrade-guide/appe-Manually_Updating_Hosts.html
you should check after the upgrade that all the needed packages have been
persisted.

A very outdated feature page for this is here:
https://ovirt.org/develop/release-management/features/node/node-next-persistence.html

Apparently a new version of gluster was just released that addresses the
issue that is causing The problems, I’d wait and make sure that whatever
version you are upgrading to has that new package

This vdsm.log is helpful, thanks.
The relation of the default gateway to the networks is ambiguous,
because ovirtmgmt and vm_network are in the same IP network.

Are you aware that vm_network might not require an IP address for
vm_network?

If you want to apply a quick and dirty hotfix the patch is really simple:
https://gerrit.ovirt.org/#/c/98499/1/lib/vdsm/virt/guestagent.py

Basically you have just to grange from
if len(info['appsList']) > 0:
to
if len(info['appsList']) > 0 and 'appsList' in qga:

about line 500 in /usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/vdsm/virt/guestagent.py
and restart vdsmd

Can you please attach the output of

[ovirt-users] oVirt 4.3.2 Error: genev_sys_6081 is not present in the system

2019-03-22 Thread Dee Slaw
Hello, I've installed oVirt 4.3.2 and the problem is that it log messages:

VDSM ovirt-04 command Get Host Statistics failed: Internal JSON-RPC error:
{'reason': '[Errno 19] genev_sys_6081 is not present in the system'} in Open
Virtualization Manager.

It also keeps on logging in /var/log/messages:

Also I can see the following in /var/log/openvswitch:

How to fix this issue with geneve tunnels?

[ovirt-users] Re: Hosts not coming back into oVirt

2019-03-22 Thread Artem Tambovskiy
Hi,

I have exactly the same issue after upgrade from 4.2.8 to 4.3.2. I can
reach the host from SHE but the VDSM is constantly failing to start on the
host after upgrade.

Thanks, looks like the host would have two default gateways, which is
strange.

Would you please trigger

grep "FINISH getCapabilities" /var/log/vdsm/vdsm.log | tail -n 1
on mini.corelink.it after triggering "Refresh Capabilities" ?

I confirm I'm in that situation.
I think I will rollback to 4.3.1 and wait for 4.3.3.

At least the vm_network is now in sync ;-)
Would you please share a screenshot of hoovering the mouse pointer over
ovirtmgmt, to see why ovirtmgmt is out of sync now?

Can you please check /var/log/vdsm/vdsm.log looking for something like

  File "/usr/lib/python2.7/site-packages/vdsm/virt/guestagent.py",
line 505, in getGuestInfo
del qga['appsList']
KeyError: 'appsList'

?

If so, I think it's https://bugzilla.redhat.com/1676893

[ovirt-users] VM info after upgrade to 4.3.2

2019-03-22 Thread Giulio Casella
Hi guys,
I noticed a strange behaviour after updating (part of) my setup to 4.3.2
(previously 4.3.1).
In detail I have the engine (stand alone, not hosted engine) version
4.3.2, and hosts (ovirt-node-ng) are 4.3.2 and 4.3.1.

In admin portal, VMs running on 4.3.2 hosts report incomplete
informations: some of them report no IP address and uptime, none of them
report memory, CPU and network usage.
Also a couple of VMs stay in "Powering up" state indefinitely
(nevertheless the VM is up and running). In this state I can't even
migrate the VM.

VMs running on 4.3.1 hosts, instead, are fine, reporting correct
informations.

For completeness: VMs are a mix of CentOS 7, Fedora, Windows 10, Windows
server, ..., with ovirt-guest-agent installed, but the OS seems to make
no difference.

Any ideas?

TIA,
Giulio Casella

The problem is that vm_network is used for default route, probably
by DHCP, but oVirt expects ovirtgmgt to be used for the default route.
If you want vm_network to be used for default route, please move the
role "Default Route" to the network vm_network in
Compute > Clusters > xxx > Logical Network > Manage Networks
Please find the complete doc in
https://ovirt.org/documentation/admin-guide/chap-Logical_Networks.html#configuring-a-non-management-logical-network-as-the-default-route

Did this solve your problem?
