[ovirt-users] update from 4.2 to 4.3
Dear All. my engine running in a virtual machine Centos 7.6.1810 and ovirt release is 4.2.8.2-1.el7 my hypervisors are Centos 7.6.1810 with vdsm 4.20.46-1.el7, allof them are ovirt-4.2 repository. Now I need to update to the last 4.3 any suggestions ? [ovirt-users] Import Domain and snapshot issue ... please help !!!
Dear All, I have been using ovirt for a long time with three hypervisors and an external engine running in a centos vm . This three hypervisors have HBAs and access to fiber channel storage. Until recently I used version 3.5, then I reinstalled everything from scratch and now I have 4.2. Before formatting everything, I detach the storage data domani (FC) with the virtual machines and reimported it to the new 4.2 and all went well. In this domain there were virtual machines with and without snapshots. Now I have two problems. The first is that if I try to delete a snapshot the process is not end successful and remains hanging and the second problem is that in one case I lost the virtual machine !!! So I need your help to kill the three running zombie tasks because with taskcleaner.sh I can't do anything and then I need to know how I can delete the old snapshots made with the 3.5 without losing other data or without having new processes that terminate correctly. If you want some log files please let me know. Thank you so much. old snapsahots seem to be the problem. In fact domain DATA_FC running in
3.5 had some
lvm snapshot volume. Before deactivate DATA_FC I didin't remove this
snapshots so when
I attach this volume to new ovirt 4.2 and import all vm at the same time
I also import
all snapshots but now How I can remove them ? Throught ovirt web
interface the remove
tasks running are still hang. Are there any other methods ?

After reboot engine virtual machine task disappear but virtual disk is
still locked ,
any ideas to remove that lock ?

Strange message because tell about "no storage space error" but ovirt puts virtual machine in a paused state. Inside events from ovirt web interface I see this: "VM has been paused due to lack of storage space" but no ERROR found in /var/log/vdsm.log. My oVirt enviroment 4.2.1 has three hypervivosr with FC storage and before now I haven't see any other problem during the normal functioning of the vm , it's seem that this error occurs only when there is massive I/O. as you can see there isn't check-volumes-option and my ovirt engine is
already at 4.2.
Any other ideas ?

This will check and repair corrupted leases.
Adding Ala to add more info if needed.

Dear Friends ,
to fix my problem I've try vdsm-tool command but it's seem an error:
[root@infn-vm05 vdsm]# vdsm-tool check-volume-lease
Usage: /usr/bin/vdsm-tool [options] [arguments]
Valid options:
..
as you can see there isn't check-volumes-option and my ovirt
engine is already at 4.2.
Any other ideas ?

[ovirt-users] VM fail to start with hook...
Dear All, I have three servers with VDSM and a vm with ovirt 4.2.4.5-1.el7, all using a Centos 7. I still need you for a problem with a virtual machine. I needed to connect the tape of a hypervisor to a vm and then I changed the Host Device by adding the ST driver. After making this change the VM is no longer playing even after removing this hook. Does anyone have any ideas? Dear all, I'm using ovirt 4.3.2 with its engine on a virtual machine. The nodes are all Centos 7.7. Both engine and hypervisor systems work on a 10.0.0.0 private network. Now I would like to let users access the ovirt web page (user portal) and for this I must necessarily add a second network interface to the engine by inserting a public ip. I can't use NAT. Can you give me any advice for this operation ? Can I add the network interface and then run engine-setup ? Will oVirt be accessible from both ip addresses at the end of this operation ? Generally speaking: 1. You should be able to add an IP address to the existing NIC. If this is a hosted-engine, this might be simpler than adding a NIC. Of course, this might not be relevant in your case, depending on network topology, conf, etc. 2. The engine itself does not care at all about which IP addresses are used to connect to it. Neither is httpd that is running there as a frontend to it - it listens on all addresses. So just add the address somehow, perhaps restart httpd if needed (but I do not think so), and everything should work. 3. The engine _does_ care about the _name_. So make sure you use the existing name. For this, you'll have to change your DNS, or /etc/hosts, as applicable. 4. If it's complex for you to keep the existing name (e.g. because you want to make it work from both old and new addresses, etc.), you can also add another name that the engine will agree to be connected to, using SSO_ALTERNATE_ENGINE_FQDNS, see e.g. [1]. I think you’d have to use your own CA, the internal one doesn’t generate certificates with other names. or as Didi suggested modify your DNS to use same FQDN for both ways Best regards. [ovirt-users] how to override host in console.vv
Hi all, I use ovirt 4.3.10 with an engine running in a standalone virtual machine. The operating system of this engine and the hypervisors is CentOS 7. In the initial setup I chose a name for the engine, ovirt.local, then I added a second public IP address named ovirt.mydomain in order to allow the user portal also from the Internet. Now here's my problem. Users are able to connect to the VM portal but they cannot access the console of their virtual machines. Checking the console.vv file I noticed that there are two parts, the first [virt-viewer] which contains the hypervisor on which the virtual machine runs, and the second in this configuration [ovirt] inside ovirt I've got "host = ovirt.local: 443". Now I would like to change the value of the "host" parameter with the FQDN. Can you tell me how I can set an override of this variable ? Thanks a lot. [ovirt-users] multipath active-passive vs active-active
Dear All,
I have been using ovirt for many years. I've got six servers , two HPE
MSA storage and a fiber channel network with two Brocade 8/20q.
oVirt has got two domain storage, one volume for each MSA. Now I have
only one MSA online. As you know multipath was configured
throught vdsm.
This is the output of the multipath command from one of the servers:

Dear All, I've oVirt 3.5.3-1-1.el6 with two kind of storage , NFS and Fibre Channel. Each Hypervisor has HBA controller and Data CLutser has four Storage named: DATA_FC, DATA_NFS, EXPORT and ISO-DOMAIN. Anybody know how can I extend a DATA_FC ? Which is the best practies ? Extend LUN from HP MSA controller or adding a new lun ? if I extend lun inside HP MSA oVirt see the new size ? Enrico Thanks a lot.
