Hi Pym,
to deploy VM Portal (ovirt-web-ui) next to the engine one needs to compile
it from sources to rpm package [1], and install it next to ovirt-engine
package. Container deployment is not used by default.
Technically ovirt-web-ui is another war application served by engine's

Hello Gianluca,
ultimate source of truth for the engine is line [1] and possibly subsequent
update clauses. It contains Broadwell-noTSX for 4.1 as well as planned 4.2.

Many thanks Gianluca. The translation will be part of 4.2 release.

Hello Ladislav,
the function computing size of default maximum memory size is currently not
configurable from DB.
If you want it to be so please feel free to file an RFE [1].

Hi all,
Since engine 4.1 there is new property of VMs/templates - max memory
[1] that is required to be larger than (or equal to) memory size. The
problem is probably caused by the fact that the specified memory (I
assume that value of `memo` is 20480MB) is larger that max memory
that is implicit

Hi Cam,
unfortunately there is no direct support for customizing TMPDIR in engine. It
can be solved by calling `virt-v2v` indirectly:
# cp /usr/bin/virt-v2v /usr/bin/virt-v2v-original
# cat > /usr/bin/virt-v2v < #!/usr/bin/sh
> env TMPDIR=/path/to/custom/tmp /usr/bin/virt-v2v-original $@

Dear JC,
if the steps below didn't work, it seems to be a bug. Could you please file an
issue at http://bugzilla.redhat.com and describe the problem there?
Thank you.

Hi,
it is not an expected behavior and filed a bug for that
(https://bugzilla.redhat.com/show_bug.cgi?id=1371243). Please feel free to add
any details.

Hi Gianluca,
QEMU_AUDIO_DRV=none is most probably the problem. Libvirt is supposed to set
"QEMU_AUDIO_DRV" to "spice" for VMs with graphics. Please make sure that the
"Optimize for" attribute is set to "Desktop" (in Edit VM dialog) and try to
shutdown and start the VM again. If the QEMU process
Procedure below uses domain credentials stored in engine configuration. It can
be customized using `engine-config` tool with keys 'SysPrepDefaultUser' and
'SysPrepDefaultPassword'.

to create a pool of Windows 7 VMs joined AD please:
1. Create a template of selected Window 7 VM.
* Make user proper guest Operating System is selected (Win 7/Win 7 x64)
* In "Initial Run" side tab check "Use Cloud-Init/Sysprep" and fill "Domain",

Hi Andrea,
IIUIC the problem occurs during import VM from external domain. I can see two
options to save data on disks:
* Export storage domain can be detached and removed from engine. Install new
separate engine and try to import VMs into new engine.
* Alternative is to use virt-viewer to creat
Hi Alexandr,
changing host address is not supported in general. The only way to do so is to
remove and re-add the host. I'm not sure if there is some way for storage to
survive the re-adding.
@Tal, can you please add details?

Hi,
permissions are accessible using REST API (endpoint api/vms/{vmId}/permissions)
so it can be scripted in time based manner.
Regarding quotas for VMs, there are CPU profiles [1]. @Roy, can you please
provide details?

Hi all,
I'd like my ovirtmgmt bridge to fetch ip address from dhcp, but vdsm keeps
removing 'BOOTPROTO=dhcp' from /etc/sysconfig/network-scripts/ifcfg-ovirtmgmt.
I set the file as follows:
DEVICE=ovirtmgmt
TYPE=Bridge
DELAY=0
STP=off
ONBOOT=yes
BOOTPROTO=dhcp
MTU=150
Hi Koen,
AFAIK WebAdmin UI doesn't provide such feature. However it can be scripted
using Java SDK, Python SDK or REST API.
